Good Morning, Oh! what a horrible rainy day, looks like once I get the general tidy up done I will just have to spend my time doing some colouring in.  I printed off digital images yesterday so that will keep me amused

I made this card yesterday, it was to be a Ruby Wedding Card for my Stock Box till a lady in the village phoned and asked for a card for her sister`s birthday.  I had this card finished, all but the greeting, that was lucky!!  I popped a "Just For You" and a "Happy Birthday" greeting in the box ready to attach.    I took my today`s card and another`s I had in "stock" to give her a choice, well!! she chose this one.  Never mind that`s a project for me, maybe not today, we will see.
The card is 7x5, the base card is cream Centura Pearl Card from Crafter`s Companion I really like this for base cards.  My next layer is Burgundy card stock, then a pale cream striped paper from my 12x12 stash that I have decided to use, a piece of bold striped paper from my Bit Box.  I have cut my fancy edges using a Spellbinders Border Die, the flowers are Spellbinders Blossom "1" and Bitty Blossom Dies, swirls are from a Crealies Die.  The flowers were originally to cascade from the left rather than the right till I made a right mess with my glue.................... however I think it looks OK either way.

That`s it for today

Little Baskets

Good Morning, rather dull and windy today, oh! well! nothing much we can do about the weather.

Here a few baskets I have decorated.  I bought then at the Hobbycraft shop they were in a Bargain Bin.  They were in packs of three, I think I bought four packs that day I should have bought more.  Once they were painted and decorated everyone wanted one.
They are brown thick card, chipboard sort of material and rather unattractive, amazing what some paint can do.  I painted them with a dark base colour, let that dry painted over that with watered down PVA glue.  When the glue is just beginning to get "tacky" you paint on some white, cream, light coloured Emulsion Paint, anything does for this.    Have a root round we all have bits left over from when we did painting, if not get some tester pots from your local DIY store.  Paint on the emulsion then dry this with your heat gun and watch the magic happen.................................I saw Sheena Douglas do this on C&C quite some time ago, it was a bit messy but I had to have a go.  I love the effect you get.    The paint will start to crack, you get a nice weathered old wood effect with the base colour showing through.  As you can see I have used my flowers and leaves again.  These baskets are not that big but great for a gift like a small brooch, pair of earrings or a fine necklace, wrapped in a bit tissue.  Makes a nice and very different way to give a little gift.
I have also done a couple of cheap plain wood mirrors I got in Ikea they turned out rather nice though I say it myself.

That`s it for today

Bucket of Best Wishes

Good Morning, not so bright here today hopefully it will brighten up as we go through the day.

Today`s.card  is a digital image from D`Arcy`s Diaries they have some great images at very reasonable prices and they have "boy" images.  Edna from Joanna Sheen`s Forum pointed me in the direction of D`Arcy`s Diaries, Edna shows some stunning cards each day on the Forum.
I did this card a couple of weeks ago before I started the "Blog" so I do not remember the colours of Copics Pens I used, I will try to write them down in future.  Mind you, when I start colouring in I get so carried away I will probably forget.

Off this morning to meet my friend I watched the Olympic Torch Event with.  Pearl will have her pictures all downloaded and printed, where are mine Yep!! still in the camera.  Mind you I did remember to to take my camera that`s an improvement.

That`s it for today

"Bits and Pieces"

Good Morning, beautiful here this morning.
Enjoyed seeing the Olympic Torch yesterday, although I am really not into all the Olympic hype it was rather exciting.  Grandsons were both there with the rest of the children from their school all 21 of them..........  There were children from 2 other rural schools as well all having a wonderful time it was great to watch them.
They had a great time, cheered everything that came through the village no matter what it was.... Cattle Trucks, trucks loaded with Hay Bales, Tractors, Police Motor Cycle Out riders, oh! there were loads of them, the lot were all cheered on their way!!!!
The little village where you are lucky if you see a couple of people in the "Village Shop" was jammed packed.  Never seen so many people there and I am sure we never will again but it was good.

Now all us Card Makers have one!! Yes!! its the "Bit Box"
Every now and again I decide to clear mine out and make as many cards as I can using some of the contents.
You know the scene on some rainy day when you want to "Create" but nothing to intense, well! get out the "Bit Box"  These cards I use as little Thank You cards or just to send to someone to say I was thinking of them.  Anyone looking for just a simple card can have one if they ask.  The other day I mentioned making flowers from scraps of paper, this just follows on from that.   I sort out all the bits that I can get flowers from, bits big enough to die cut shapes or borders, even the actual cards can be made from here, if you are not too fussy about the size.  We can always make and envelope to fit if we have to.  After I have used what I want the rest goes in a bag, the school that our Grandsons go to get the best of the rest.

That`s it for now

Coffee & Cream

Beautiful here early in rural Perthshire looks like it will be a really good day.
The Olympic Torch comes through a village near us, my friend who lives there has invited John and I to watch from her garden.  The road runs along the bottom of the garden so we should get a great view...........note self ...................."Remember Camera"!!!

Today`s card is a Digital download from Funky Kits, one of the Sugar Nellie range "Joy Sitting".  I have a few other images from this range, they are really beautiful, I just love to "Colour in" to relax and chill out.  Earlier this year I decided to STOP caressing, looking and putting back in the box all the lovely 12x12 sheets of Anna Griffen papers I have.  So!!! with sheer determination I cut into one for the background for this card, I used Copics Pens to colour the image, really do not know which ones.  I made the card before I even thought about the Blog must try to remember to take notes in future.  The roses and brown vintage ribbon are from Wild Orchid Crafts.   Have you looked at their website?? if not you really should there are some stunning things and they often have offers too good to miss.........................
Think that`s it for today

A Card Today

Good Morning, up early, ironing all done, I like to iron when I bring washing in off the line other than that I have to do it very early in the morning before I start my day, don`t know why but there you go.  My sister Hazel  would say it is a "Virgo" thing and she is probably right.

Today`s card is a Triple Easel Card from a Tutorial that Suzanne on the Joanna Sheen Forum did a couple of weeks ago.  I have made and sent a few, when I had one on display, Hubby John said it looked like a Box Brownie Camera (shows how old he is!!!)  I did agree and made 2 using Black, Brown and Gold card for Birthday Cards I needed to make for men.  I actually got a very nice comment the other day from one of the men who had received one.  The bases are made using Spellbinders dies, flower and leaves are Crealies Dies from Joanna Sheen`s shop. The flower is CL CF 05 and the Leaves CL CS 11, when I have these dies out I cut loads, from scraps of card and paper.  I sit and make up the flowers, keep them in a box ready for use at any time.
That`s it for today.

Some Buttons

Good afternoon, I  am a little later today.
The boys have just left after being with us since before Lunchtime yesterday.
The cupboards are almost empty, the milk is gone, all 6 pints of the stuff, told you I needed a "Cow" in the back garden.  A Great time was had by all, now I can get time to play.........................

Here is a picture of some of my "Button Necklaces".
Hazel and I have been making these for about 3 years now, we decided to give them a rest and move onto something else.  That`s when we came up with the "Pendant" idea, however we are often asked for the Button Necklaces and they still seem to sell.  I was looking for things totally unrelated the other week and found a bag of buttons I had bought at HobbyCraft in Glasgow a year past March.  Well! they are all made up now using extras from my BIG Button Jar, I just love stirring those buttons about in the jar.

Bye for now
