"Happy Anniversary"

Saturday 30th June 2012
Good Morning quite bright here today, mind you I said that yesterday and it turned out a really horrible day of really heavy rain.

Today`s card is not quite finished....needs the greeting!!! which will be "Happy 1st Anniversary"  I made this for my friends daughter and her husband.  Their anniversary is next week, I have to make the box and get it posted.
Ooopps!!! just noticed that the bow has slipped a little, must be the weight of that "Dazzler" on the bow, will have to fix that before I send it out...............

You cant really see but I have inked M-Bossibilities Paisley folder with Tim Holtz Dusty Concord Distress Ink, before putting it through my Grand Calibur to emboss it, actually the fist run though was far to dark.  Without re-inking I ran another piece of card through and got a much more subtle effect.
Matted that onto a piece of purple card stock.  I cut the flowers using Spellbinders Blossom 1, also Bitty Blossoms and leaves in a cream card, I inked these with the Dusty Concord while they were still in the die.
Ribbon was from my mighty Stash of the stuff, I love ribbon and buttons.  The whole lot is mounted onto a cream card base approx 6" x 9".   The Dazzeler is one of the new embellishments by Creative Expressions I got from Sam Poole`s shop.

That`s it for today

"Pretty Petals"

Friday 29th June 2012
Good Morning, a bit brighter here today, so glad that horrible "Grey" has gone.
Tidy up day here, like to get things in order for the weekend.   Boys came for lunch yesterday, that`s them finished school for the next 6 weeks.

Once the boys went I rummaged through a bundle of "Bits of Paper" that had gathered over the past week.
I decided, rather than put them in the "Bit Box" I would make some flowers, so here they are.
Wow! just looked out the window and the "SUN" is shining so off to get things done, I might even go out later to do some food shopping.
That`s it for today

"Golden Greetings"

Thursday 28th June 2012
Good Morning, wet, miserable and raining once again.
Nothing much planned for today, might just have to spend it "playing with paper or beads & wire"!!!!

I got an order last week for a "Golden Wedding Card" so here it is.  The lady who ordered it had bought the couple some yellow rose plants for their garden as a gift.   She asked if I could put some yellow roses on the card, think I managed to achieve that!!!   Obviously I had to make a box to accommodate the flowers, customer was over the moon, she phoned me to tell me the couple who received it were delighted, that`s what makes me happy.
If I do some playing today I might show you that tomorrow.
That`s it for today

On Your Bike!!

Wednesday 27th June 2012
Good Morning, horrible, miserable and raining day here.
Yesterdays washing all ironed and another load in although that will not be out to dry by the look of this weather.

This was a very quick and easy card to make, a Flower Soft pre coloured topper with some Flower Soft added over the flower images.  I finished it off with a greeting and a Spellbinders border die, can`t remember which one.  I usually open the packets pop the dies on a magnetic sheet and throw away the packaging.  However, there was a lady demonstrating Spellbinders the other week (not Sue Wilson) she cuts up the paper packaging and fits the image and name of the dies on the back of each of her magnetic sheets, what a great idea, so that`s what I have done with my recent Die purchases.
In future I should know the name of each new set of dies I buy.

That`s it for today

My Handmade Bowmaker!!

Good Morning, nice and bright here this morning I do hope it stays.
I am going to Iron yesterdays washing, have an early lunch then I am off over to Fife to visit Hazel.

Here is my Handmade Bowmaker, as I said yesterday I was making bows for the Pew Ends for a wedding and the posts on my Untimate Pro were far too short!!!!!............. I popped out to the garage and found a piece of 2"x2" wood about 20" long used when the men installed my kitchen some time ago.  John had rescued it from the bits they were throwing away, he obviously thought it might be handy, well yes! it has been.  John cut off 12"  drilled 4 holes along the top, stuck in the 4 pieces of dowling and there you have it.  I would have preferred if I could have moved the posts but "Beggars cant be Choosers as they say"  Now I can tie "Deep"  bows in multiple sizes.   Of course it looked rather Crude and Boring, I could not really deal with the Crude but I think I have dealt with the Boring...............
I gave it a weathered look using the same method as I used for the Mirrors in an earlier Blog.  I used a Sheena Douglas Rose Border Stamp and painted it trying her method of painting.  This was my first attempt at this, I think I should have had a few more goes before doing it on my Bowmaker, however being one of the most impatient people in the world, that was out of the question, I had to get it done.
Our Son, also John  thought it was a rather good idea and designed a much nicer one that could have been made in moulded plastic.   I sent a copy of that design to Crafters Companion a few months ago,  just as a thought.  They are a very innovative Company, maybe this idea might interest them, however to date I have not even had a letter saying they received it!!!!!

That`s it for today

Thank You Card

Monday 25th June 2012

Good Morning, Oh! Wow! the sun is shining, what a difference that makes to the day.
I will get through my Monday cleaning a lot quicker.

Today`s card is an 8x8 card.
I started by cutting a piece of green card slightly smaller than the base
Topped this with a backing paper I printed from a NitWit Digi Collection
I cut a piece of my favourite paper from MCS Floriography CD
Cut this into four sections, mounted them onto pieces of the green card, stitched them together
Added that to my NitWit paper and green card with mounting foam
I put a piece of lace topped with pink vintage seam binding round the lot and mounted on the card base
I added a Triple Loop Bow,  flower made using Spellbinders Blossom No1 die,  few suede effect leaves I found in a box while looking for something totally different.  I cut a few swirls from the green card using a Crealies die, I also popped in a Stick Pin, added the greeting but that can be changed if I need the card for something else.  Once finished it did not look quite right so I added Faux stitching round the whole card.

My Triple Loop Bow was tied on the BowMaker I thought up and John made for me.  I like to tie multiple loop bows but all the BowMakers on the market have such small posts.  I was making Large Bows for the Pew Ends for my friends daughters wedding.  It was driving me crazy (more crazy than I normally am) so I rummaged in the garage and found just what I needed.  My BowMaker is rather "Crude" but guess what?? I works and I love it.  Might just show you that tomorrow

That`s it for today

Mini`s from the Bit Box

Good Morning, yet another rainy day.
Thomas and his daddy are off to Perth to the Model Railway Show.  Robert here with us he is really not into this  Railway thing!!!  He wants to make a Wire and Bead Keyring with me, so that will be my project for today.  Thomas was here yesterday and did this, the first thing Robert asked when he came through the door was, could he do the same.................

Here are a few Mini Cards I have done for Hazel.  I have made little boxes for some, Hazel pops one of our little pendants in, to give as a gift.  I never thought of that, it works and is a great way to give just a little gift, tie the box with a nice piece of ribbon and you are done.  Going to make some of these Mini Cards as Christmas ones in boxes to use for giving little gifts at Christmas.

That`s it for today
