"Fund Raisers"

Saturday 14th July
Good Morning, hope you all survived Friday 13th ............
A bit dull and undecided here at the moment, we will see what the day brings.

Hazel and I have a few dates in the Diary for Craft Events, fist one, end of August.  I thought I had better get started on my share of the items we intend selling.  We have been selling a lot of our Pendants, we get a load made up then they all sell.  We are not complaining, far from it.  We are so pleased as a percentage of the money raised goes to the Chemo Unit and the Maggies Centre at Ninewells Hospital Dundee.
A few weeks ago I made quite a lot of the bases, yesterday I was making up an order for a Red & Black Brooch rather than a pendant.   Once I had started on one I just had to keep going, these are a few of the ones I have made.  Not a great picture but you get the idea!!!  Some of the smaller ones I make as a Key Ring, we now have the choice of Pendants, Brooches, Bag Charms and  Key rings.
It is rather hard on the fingers, today I think I will be making some cards.  Yesterday I got my new Joanna Sheen House-Mouse Book and CD, I feel a little playing coming on later..................

That`s it for today
Thank you for visiting my Blog it is much appreciated.

"Just a Note"

Friday 13th July 2012
Good morning, not nice here at the moment, not actually raining but it is not that far away.
Really slept in this morning, this sleeping late is getting bad, two days in a row............!!!
My friend Elaine was here last night and did not so away till Midnight, that`s my excuse and I `m sticking to it.

Base card is 8x8
Background paper is from a Nitwit digital collection
The smaller bits of paper were in my Bit Box, I am sure they were FreeB papers from a magazine, matted onto pink card
Matching pink cardstock was cut using Spellbinders Floral Oval Die and "Just a Note" stamped onto a die cut circle of matching paper for the central topper.
My favourite flowers and leaves for the embellishment

That`s it for today.
Thank you for visiting my Blog it is much appreciated

"Happy Birthday Son"

Thursday 12th July 2012
Good Morning, slept in this morning.  Must have been all the excitement of the Movie yesterday!!
Went with Audrey and the boys to see Ice Age 4!! Actually it was very good, oh! boy! did Thomas enjoy it.  He laughed so much I was laughing at him..................Robert slept towards the end, hes not good at sitting watching things through till the end no matter what it is.

Today`s card is one I did for Son`s birthday on Tuesday past.   No!! that`s not true I had it made and in the Stock Box.  After being away all last week I was not in "Making Cards" mode,  had a look in my box, felt this one was OK for a Mans Card.  I am sure the "Little Something for Himself"  in it, was more important to him than what was on the front.

A mixture of black, grey and white layers.  I used the new Spellbinders Dies by Sue Wilson for the border and the medallions..  The black was cut using Co-Ordination Card, sanded back to give a slightly distressed look.
A stamped greeting mounted onto a couple of pieces of card cut with a Fish Tail, a button threaded with twine to take away the plainness.   Once finished I had that feeling, you know the one I mean............ "it does not look just quite right"  a little "Bare" maybe??  I went round with some Faux Stitching........... sorted!!!
Off to catch up with things
That`s it for today

"Bucket of Best Wishes"

Wednesday 11th July
Oh! My! What a rotten day!....... however not as bad as what some others are coping with at the moment, we are grateful for that.
Off to Perth with John this morning, he is having his eyes tested, I will have to drive back.

Card today is made using a Digital image from D`Arcey`s Diary, if you have not used these you should have a wee look.  There are lots of great images for all occasions with a little twist..........

I used a 6x6 card base
Pink card, paper printed form one of the NitWit Collection of papers
Pink Vintage seam Binding, Mulberry Paper Flowers and Rose Buds from Wild Orchid Crafts
I curled the bits of wire I cut from the stems of the flowers round a Kebab stick to give me the little green twisty bits
The image is coloured using Copics and Promarkers
I sent the card off to a couple who are needing some Good Wishes at this time.

That`s it for today

"Friends"

Tuesday 10th July 2012
Good Morning, Ironing all done, dinner done for tonight, way ahead of myself today.
Off to be with Hazel as she gets her next dose of Chemo, next one will be the last.
Hazel I salute you for being so positive.

Believe it or not this card was made from the "Bit Box".  The Paisley background you can see popping out is done by inking an M-Bossibility "Paisley" folder before putting the card in and running it through the Cuttlebug.  First time I tried this, OMG!! it was far too dark, me at my best being heavy handed................  I did not re-ink, and ran another piece through.  I did another one with the same ink, it was very delicate, I used it on a Wedding Card.  I popped this one into the Bit Box, for later use, the too dark one went in the bin!!

This is a 6x6 card base.
I matted lilac and purple then my inked piece.
I wrapped a piece of lace (bought in a market in Turkey, very cheap) I had threaded purple ribbon through, round all these layers before attaching it with foam pads to the base card.
A piece of Silver Mirri Card was run through the same folder (cleaned by this time) topped with a piece of purple also embossed, have you guessed, I rather like these embossing folders!!!!!
The white die cut was in the box just begging to be used, as well as some scraps of paper the flowers were die cut from.  I used Spellbinders Blossom No.1, Bitty Blossoms and leaves for these flowers.  Leaves were cut from bits I would normally throw away.  The thing I found most difficult was lining up the Ticket Sentiment with the Die to cut it out.  Anyone out there who uses these Tickets can you tell me an easy way please......................

That`s it for today

"Sorry"

Monday 9th July 2012
Slept in this morning!!!! must have been that bike ride with John yesterday, really tiered me out.
Quite bright here today, hope it stays fair, let me get the bedding on the line.  This is big clean day so have to get a move on.

I bought this digi stamp from Funky Kits it is a Sugar Nellie digital download.  I liked the image, I used it to send a "Sorry" card to a friend when I forgot her birthday.
I coloured the image with Copics and Promarkers, die cut the image with a Spellbinders Deckle edge rectangle die, largest size.  Distressed the edges to take away the starkness.  Mounted that onto a piece of cream card that I had "pierced" this was one of the first times I had tried this and I like the effect it gives.  Only thing I have to master is getting the piercing right at the corners, never seem to get them to match up just right.  Finished the whole thing off with my favourite hand made flowers, die cut leaves and a bow, using white Vintage Seam Binding, died pink using distress ink.
That`s it for today

"A Little Thank You"

Sunday 8th July 2012
Good Morning, not raining yet but it does not look that far away.
I feel so sorry for all these people who have been flooded, bad enough when the Washing Machine floods the kitchen, at least that is clean water!!!!............

A little Thank You Card, this is the kind of card I always keep in stock, you can add any! greeting when needed.
Base card is made using a "Grand" scallop circle die.   If you leave a fraction of the folded  base card just inside the die before you run it through this becomes the fold of your card.
Flowers are cut in Velum using a Large Flower Punch, I chalked them rather than distress ink them.  I used 3 per flower, gently shaped them before stacking.   You hardly see the chalking but they are chalked!!  Cut some leaves in toning shades, a couple of Tags also punched out, then greeting added.

That`s it for today
