"Simple as A B C"

Saturday 21st July 2012
Good Morning on this bright and sunny morning, I do hope it stays.
We are going up to Kenmore Church to see my friend Oriel`s son, Edward,  getting married at 1pm.  I was told last night "only if the weather is good".............Thank You for the sunshine!!!!

This was a request for a "very simple"  Thank You  card.  Can`t get more simple than this can we!!!
A thank you card for the staff, from a little boy leaving the ABC Nursery.
I was asked by his mum to make it very plain but have the ABC like building blocks

Base card 6 x 6 from a Joanna Sheen pack
Dark Blue Card from my stash
Blue Gingham paper printed from Rob Adam`s Gingham, Polka Dot, Check and Tartan CD
This is great CD that covers the lot in a range of colours
ABC`s printed from a Carfters Companion CD
All their CDs have this included
"Thank You" a Stamping Up Stamp
The corner was in my wee box of Die Cut Bits I keep "Just in case"

That`s it for today...................plain and very simple
Thank you popping by to look in on my Blog it is much appreciated.

"Wedding Wishes"

Friday 20th July 2012
Good Morning not quite so bright this morning, at least it is not actually raining.
Late with my Post, always the same on a Friday.  My friend Elaine comes Thursday evening, she never leaves before "Midnight" ...............!!!!

Wedding Wishes for my friend Oriel`s elder son Edward.  Oriel and I met at school in Belfast, many, many years ago and we still keep in touch.  She started at this particular school the day before me, the teacher sat us together, we liked each other, there started a LONG!!! and great friendship.  My family left Belfast to come back to Scotland, that did not stop Oriel and I seeing each other, attending special occasions, such as Weddings, Silver Weddings, Ruby Weddings, Christenings and just visiting in general.  We have not been invited to Edwards wedding, it is to be a "Family" thing, I am not going to say exactly how many will be there BUT!! Oriel is one of "12" children all married with lots of children, she herself has four...................enough said!!!!!  The wedding is to be held in  Kenmore, Scotland, Edward and his future wife work in Edinburgh.  We are going up to see them being married, I am looking forward to seeing Oriel and her husband John even if it will just be for a very quick "hello" hopefully we can meet up over the next few days.

Base Card is approx 5 x 7
I always seem to say "approx" I cut my cards from sheets of A3 card.
I have used Ivory Centura Pearl Card from Crafters Companion, this is wonderful card to Emboss
I embossed another piece of Centura Pearl card with Spellbinders M-Bossibillity Folder "Paisley"
Added a piece of lace, tied a bow with narrow lace (sent from Jackie on Joanna Sheen`s Forum) and added that.
Made a flower using some Mulberry Paper petals added a Stick Pin, both of these from Wild Orchid Crafts
The sentiment is typed using the computer matted onto some card to match the flower.

That`s it for today

"Thank You"

Thursday 19th July 2012
Good Morning, what a beautiful morning after such a terrible day yesterday.
Really should have had a "boat" to come home from Dundee, the water was lapping round the door frames of my car at one point.........................!!!!

A "Thank You" card for my friend Debbie.  I do hope she has received it as she checks my Blog.   She sent me a present of a Hunkydory "Time for Tea" pack.  There are some wonderful Toppers, Printed Card and lovely Backing Papers in that pack.
I started communicating with Debbie about 4 years ago through a Craft Forum, (no longer running).   I mentioned to her that I was thinking about going to the Crafters Companion 2010 Craftaganza, just outside  Darlington.  We had never met, without hesitation she invited me to come and stay with her.  Debbie was going and lived only a few miles from where it was to be held.  I accepted her invitation and was delighted to at last meet Debbie, her wonderful partner Mark and beautiful daughter Ashleigh.  We had a fantastic few days, still keep in touch e-mailing each other at least once a week, sending each other cards and little gifts.  Thank you Debbie I really appreciate your friendship.

Base card approx 8 x 8
I cut down one of the sheets of printed A4 cards to form a square
Used one of the toppers as the focal point, another printed tag with "Thank You"
I tied a bow leaving long tails, attached it to the hole in the tag, twisted and attached the tails
Added a few pearls to finish off and that was that...........done!!
Easy, quick and quite effective I think.

That`s it for today
Thank you for looking in on my Blog it is much appreciated.

"Happy Anniversary"

Wednesday 18th July 2012
Good Morning, horrible, dark and raining here today.  Oh! well! we have had two good days in a row really can`t be greedy.
Off out this morning to have coffee with Hazel, she has taken longer to get over this dose of Chemo but thankfully the next one is the last dose, so although today it is wet and miserable there is always sunshine round every corner........................

This is the card I made for John and Audrey`s Anniversary which was yesterday.  Sorry my photographic skills are not good and it is rather delicate colours.   I just hope John remembered to take it into the house and give it to Audrey. I gave him the card when he came to pick up the boys on Monday afternoon.  Audrey was on the phone yesterday to ask if John had left his Tartan shirt here, he had a T-Shirt under the shirt and he took the shirt off, the sun was up, it was warm here Monday.   Now my mind is whirring, I bet the card is still in the car with his shirt which he did take home with him................!!!   Man!! that is typical of John, high powered job which I know he is great at, BUT.............Oh! well enough said.  I did not bother making a box for it, I wrapped it in Lilac Tissue and tied it with a nice bow.

Base card a Scalloped 8 x8
Purple card stock
Backing papers, image and greeting, from Joanna Sheen`s New House-Mouse Book and CD, Project No 3.
Was going to add some real Love-Hearts sweets but the shop in the next village did not have them.
I added Spellbinder Blossom 1 and Bitty Blossom die cut flowers instead.

That`s it for today
Thank you for popping by, it is much appreciated

"Oh! Baby!"

 Tuesday 17th July 2012
Good Morning, bright and sunny, I do hope it lasts.  What a difference the weather makes, we even had lunch outside yesterday.  Boys here from just after 10am, outside all the time........great!!!
Thomas and his Grandpa went off on one of their "Adventure" bike rides approx 8 miles.  Not bad for a 7 year old and a 70 year old ......................Robert and I went on our bikes, we maybe covered 1/2 a mile if we were lucky.   Robert not quite steady enough for a longer ride just yet, the fact we managed to get along to the village park was thrilling enough for him.  I think the time spent in the park appealed to him more to be honest.

This is a "Standard" card I keep in my "Stock Box" I pride myself on not making two cards exactly the same, this one makes me to think!!!  I have sold so many that I am not quite sure if I have stuck 100% to my rule.  Of course depending on if it is for a boy or a girl you can ring the changes.  This colourway is a bit more challenging.................I do this so people can buy either for the new baby or as here for the Grandparents even before the baby is born, I make the little swing sentiments to match whatever the occasion be it the Birth of the Baby or for the Grandparents

Base Card 5 x 7 approx
Backing paper and image from one of the first Crafting CDs I ever bought "Craftyjak`s Backgrounds and More" CD2
Borders cut with a Martha Stewart Punch
Swing sentiments done on the computer and added using Jump Rings

When I got this CD I was so disappointed, all the background paper were so pale, like they were done on Draft.   However this particular background has been used so much as it is just perfect for this type of card.
I am sure there is a way that I could get more definition BUT I am hopeless on the computer so I have just stuck to what pops out of the printer from the CD

That`s it for today
Thank you for popping by it is much appreciated, hope to see you again soon

"Baptism Card"

 Monday 16th July 2012
Good Morning
Boys coming along for a couple of hours later this morning, must crack on with the Housework

This a a Baptism Card I have popped my Stock Box, I was asked by a neighbour who was going to the event to make a card.  I did two cards so she could choose, guess what?? I forgot to photograph the one she actually took, typical, just typical.

White Base Card is 5 x 7
The whole thing is a very simple card indeed.
The backing paper and image are from Joanna Sheen`s Baby Love CD
Nothing to explain here "What you See is What You Get"
Greeting was done on the computer.

That`s it for today
Thank you for looking in on my Blog it is much appreciated.

"Happy Birthday"

Sunday 14th July
Good Morning, bright, but rather windy here, if it turns out like it did yesterday I will be happy.
We had "sunshine" for a while and it did stay dry till early evening, that has to be a record!!!!
John and I even managed to get out on our bikes, we did not go far but I got there and back unscathed.........
I am not a cyclist, unlike Thomas who goes for miles and miles with his Grandpa.

A Happy Birthday card, made for our Daughter-in-Law who`s birthday is later this week.  She does not check my Blog so I can show it to you.

Base card is approx 5 x 7
The tartan style backing paper is from the new Mulberry Wood CD from Crafter`s Companion
Two borders were cut using Spellbinders Edgeabillity Dies, these are great as you can make so many different patterns
Two pieces of lace from Wild Orchid Crafts wrapped round the card, the gap between filled in with purple ribbon. I used the same ribbon to tie a multi loop bow on my Homemade Bowmaker.
I mounted the whole lot onto the base card,  flowers are Spellbinders Blossom and Bitty Blossom Dies
Leaves cut using Crealies Die from Joanna Sheen`s shop
A stamped sentiment was added to finish the whole thing off

That`s it for today
Thank you for visiting my Blog it is much appreciated.
