"Happy Bierthday"

Saturday 28th July 2012
Good Morning and welcome to my Blog today.  Rather cloudy here, really do not know what it will do.  My neighbour a  farmer is busy out the back with his tractor turning grass to dry.  Busy, always busy here in the country.

My card today is the one I made and sent to my friend Oriel in Ballywalter, Norther Ireland, it is her birthday on Monday.

Base Card 5 x 7 approx
Chocolate Brown card stock for matting
Marianne`s Embossing Folder to cut and emboss the top layer.
I have terrible problems with this folder, I have tried all combinations of Shims and card
Martha Stewart punch to create a border
Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts, punched leaves, butterfly and a little charm from my stash
Stamped sentiment

That`s it for today
Thank you for looking in on my Blog it is much appreciated

"Hugs & Kisses"

Friday 27th July 2012

Good Morning and welcome to my Blog this sunny day. The sky is rather heavy with dark clouds looming but Hey! Ho! getting up early has its benefits..........at least I have seen the sun.   I am sure the black clouds will go and we will have a bright, sunny day.

I have a very, simple card today, I was playing yesterday, in my "Scrap Box" I found this Die Cut shape I had popped in.

Base Card 6 x 6 from Joanna Sheen
Pink card stock from my stash, embossed with Spellbinder M-Bossibility Folder Paisley
Die Cut is a Lifestyle Die from Crafter`s Companion
Ribbon from my box
Pearls from Wild Orchid Craft`s
Greeting done on the computer

This Die is a very intricate die, I have found using Greaseproof  Paper between the die and my card a blessing for getting it out.  I also rub the cutting side of the Die with a Tumble Drier sheet.  It can be a pain sometimes but the result is a stunning piece to work with.  I find myself cutting quite a few at once and keeping them, just to save frustration.
I wanted to keep the card flat enough to go in an envelope so NO added embellishments.
Found the font I have used for the greeting, thought it very sweet it has a little heart in the and sign. Must look it up later and add the name of it to my next blog.

That`s it for today
Thank you for visiting it is much appreciated

"Special Happy Birthday"

Thursday 26th July 2012
Good morning, not so nice today, hope that was not summer yesterday!!!!
Off out to meet my friend Pearl, she was at the Golf last week working for RBS.  I will get her stories about seeing, meeting and chatting to all the "celebrities"

Today`s card is one I made for my neighbours daughter.  My neighbour makes cards herself but she wanted something special so asked if I would make one for her.  She wanted it "big" and in a box, this is what I made for her.

Base card 8 x8 Scalloped card from Joanna Sheen
Pink card from stash for matting
Backing papers from MCS Florigorphy CD No2
Die cuts Spellbinders Lacy Squares and Blossom No1
Leaves a Crealies Die from Joanna Sheen
Banner I cut myself, added a peel off greeting coloured with Promarkers
I made the box,  covered the top with the same paper as the card, lined it with a piece of tissue to match the leaves
Another Happy Customer, thank goodness

That`s it for today
Thank you for visiting my Blog it is much appreciated

"Beautiful Sunset"

Wednesday 25th July 2012
Good Morning and Oh! My! Word! what a beautiful one it is.  How long is it since we have had a clear, blue sky and the sun shining???

Not a card today, I just wanted you to see the "Beautiful Sunset" we had last night.  The red got even darker as the evening went on, my picture of that is just a little dark to show up on here.  There is something in that old saying.........Red sky at night.    This was taken around 9.45 from the bottom of our garden.
John and I are off to Broughty Ferry this morning to take his car in for a service.  The garage gives us a car so we will go a little further along the road to Dobbies Garden Centre.  There is a lot to have a look at there, they also have a fair sized Crafty Bit, Books, and a Coffee Shop. There is also another store which has some nice things to spend money on.

That`s it for now, might be back later
Thank you for visiting my Blog it is much appreciated.

"Floral Birthday"

 Tuesday 24th July 2012
Good Morning, rather dull here, not actually raining, however I am sure it is not far away.
Had to dry the washing inside yesterday, that`s it all ironed and put away.
Off out to meet a friend for coffee later.

Managed to get a few cards made for my "stock box"yesterday, here is one.  My photography is not good should have listened to my Dad more...................he was a great photographer.  Our son, and my nephew managed to get some of Dad`s talent.  Oh! well we cant have everything can we????

Base Card 5 x 7 Ivory Card Stock
Cream Card Matt pricked round the edge
Purple Card Stock embossed with Spellbinders M-Bossibility Folder leaf pattern EL009
Circles cut with Spellbinders Vintage Lace Motif and plain circles dies
Flowers, Blossom 1 and Bitty Blossom Spellbinder Dies
Happy Birthday stamped on Tag from Vintage Lace Motif Die set
Satin ribbon from my Ribbon "bit box" looks gold, it is actually a dull cream
I tied a bow and stuck it on with my Hot Glue Gun
Crystal gems I received in an "Angel Envie" from Toni  on the Joanna Sheen Forum
I coloured one of the gems with a Purple Promarker to tone in with the card
Punched a few tiny Butterflies, had to pop a purple one up in top corner to cover the extra holes I had made.

I really have to practice the piercing more, I always seem to get a "stray" hole no matter how careful I think I am.

That`s it for today
Thank you for looking in on my Blog it is much appreciated.

"Happy 70th Birthday"

Monday 23rd July 2012
Good Morning, bright at the moment but, Oh! the black clouds are looming
Was hoping to get the bedding out on the line to dry, in my dreams I think.
Once the house is done, I hope to get some time to play...........by myself!!!!

Played yesterday..........looking back my Posts you can see Thomas and I have made a model of "Flying Scotsman" now he would like to create "Mallard" another steam engine.  I passed the Dining Room, spotted what we managed to do yesterday afternoon, I am exhausted just seeing the thing.  Hopefully they will not be here today.............!!!!!  Love the boys to bits I really do..............
These have always been his two favourite engines, he was delighted to actually see them two weeks ago when we visited the National Rail Museum in York.  Wee Robert just loves to play with card, paper, scissors and stickers, yesterday he was not interested , he was happy to get his Grandpa to himself while Thomas and I were busy.

A request for a 70th Birthday Card for a lady who was a "Party Girl" in her younger days.  To me 70 is still young, I do hope she still likes a good party............

Base Card 7 x 5
Backing Papers, Image from Card Creations Art Deco, Timeless Keepsakes CD
Image mounted on some Mirri Card
Sentiment done on computer
Red ribbon from my huge stash of the stuff!! love, love Ribbon
Red Stickles used to create all the red sparkles

"A Castle for Thomas"

Sunday 22nd July 2012

Good Morning, nice here at the moment, I am not sure what the weather wants to do today.

We had a fantastic day yesterday.  A Beautiful drive from here to Kenmore approx 1 hour.  We left in bright warm sunshine.  Just outside Dunkeld we went through a thick wooded area, came out the other side and the sun had gone.............!!!!  It was nice in Kenmore, the sun did shine but not so brightly as we had left back home.  Managed to have some time to chat with my friend Oriel who wore a "Stunning" outfit, her husband John, their son Roger who was Best Man and of course Edward the "Groom".   Bride was beautiful, I know all brides are, but really, she was beautiful.  Only down side for me were the "Bridesmaids" they all had on different dresses, style, colour, lengths, everything .......... it just looked so odd.

I have mentioned before that our Grandson Thomas has great faith in my abilities.  Here is another request..........a Knights Castle..........Oh! Right!!!!
I had to look for that Magic Wand they seem to think I have.
I did print off a Template from a CD I had got some time ago, once home, looked though the designs on the CD and thought ....no way, there is nothing there I will use.  It has come in handy in the end.

Template printed from CD by Amethyst Paper Craft Designs
Grey Card from stock
Printed some Acetate with a design from the CD for the windows
String to hold up the Draw Bridge
Flower soft to decorate
"A lot of Hard Work"

Thomas was delighted, I was not that pleased, I might just have to have another go sometime ...!!!
"Could do better" comes to mind when I see the photograph here, somehow it looks better when you actually see it.
You never know what tomorrows Post will be. I think the boys might be along at some point today, Mummy is working, Daddy is in charge.  I just hope Robert might want to make a card, could be Monday`s Post sorted.............

That`s it for today
Thank you for popping in to visit it is much appreciated.
