"Shabby Chic"

Saturday 4th August 2012
Good Morning and welcome to my Blog today.
Nice and bright, the sun is there but unfortunately so are the clouds, it is early hopefully they will burn back to give us another nice day.   Nothing much planned for today, we will just see how things go.  On Thursday morning our neighbours son offered to cut the hedge along the front of our property.  Our house is built in the corner of a field so it is a field hedge, not an easy job.  He managed to cut one half on Thursday, said he will be back today.   We have to help clear up, that might just be enough to keep us busy today.

My card is a bit out of my comfort zone being Shabby Chic, I quite like it and might have a go at another soon.

Base Card approx 5 x 7
White card from Hazel`s gift
I cut another piece slightly smaller roughed the edges then used distress inks
Doily cut from a Marianne`s Die
Label, Nit Wit paper scrap from my box, I cut the shape myself
Bow using American Seam Binding
Flowers and Pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts
Leaves cut from a Crealies Die
Sentiment, Stamping Up stamp

I enjoyed making this although I was very wary of the Shabby Chic look, my cards are usually Clean Cut.
I have some ideas for others, we will wait and see if they materialise.

That`s it for today
Thank you for popping into have a look it is much appreciated

I have entered this card in the In The Pink Challenge for August

Friday 3rd August 2012
Good Morning and welcome to my Blog today.
What a beautiful morning, the sun is shining, the sky is clear, hopefully it will stay like that for the the day.  Might even get a chance to have lunch outside, cant remember when we last did that.

Gave this card to my  friend Elaine who comes every Thursday evening.  We started this Thursday evening thing years ago with the intention of "Crafting" never really get round to that we just chat, laugh, cry, and listen to each others tales of being down or elation.  This has been a week of ups and downs for Elaine, ending in great joy............she has a new Grand-daughter Mia, Katie born on Wednesday morning.
This is the card I made for Jennifer and Graham to welcome little Mia.

Base: folded A4 card from a big pack I got from my sister Hazel
Backing paper printed from the fist CD I ever bought, Craftyjack`s Backgrounds & More
Pink edges done using card stock punched with a Martha Stewart border punch threaded with white ribbon
Dress, hat and bunny, dies cuts from Dianne`s Die Cuts
I used multiple layers of the die cuts to get the pink/white effect on the dress and hat
Little pink bows are made with silk ribbon from the Flowers Soft stand at Glasgow Hobby Craft Show
Sentiment done on the computer

I also did a card for the Grandparents which I will show another day
That`s it for today off to get a move on with the housework so I can enjoy the sunshine
Thank you for popping by I really do appreciate it

"Paper Roses"

Thursday 2nd August 2012
Good afternoon and welcome to my Blog
Slept in till 7am this morning which has put my day all to pot!!

Something a little different today, I love making paper flowers but have never made any this BIG!!
The instructions were in the Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine a few months ago.  There was also a Free paper pad with the issue which I used for the flowers.  I did some smaller flowers, made and gave that posy to sister Hazel, felt they would last longer than real ones
This project cost me no money, just time and I really enjoyed the play time....................

That`s it for today off to catch up with card orders
Thank you for stopping by it is much appreciated

"Oh! Pretty Lady"

Monday 30th July 2012
Good Morning and welcome to my Blog today.
A pretty card today to help me get over the horrible weather.  Yesterday we took the boys over to Cupar in Fife (near St Andrews) to a Model Railway show, we had a great time.  Left here in pouring rain, crossed the river Tay and entered another "world" a distance of about 20 miles.  The sun was shining, it was warm, people were smiling.  We went to the show, had to have something to eat!!!! these boys are always hungry.  Went to the play park where the boys had great fun on all the equipment.  How things have changed since Granny and Grandpa were young, we got a bank of swings, a merry-go-round thing, a slide and thought it was fantastic.

The images on today`s card I have used in many combinations with the same basic theme.  I received a "Swap Card" some time ago from a member of the Joanna Sheen forum using these images.  It has to one the the best Swap Cards I have ever had.   One I made very similar to the above, done as a "Mothers Day" card came 2nd in a Craft Magazine competition earlier this year.  I was over the moon, the competition, sponsored by Stamping Up! gave me lots of great goodies for my effort.

Base Card 8 x 8 Scallop edge card from Joanna Sheen
Pink and silver mirri card for matting, from my stash
Backing Paper printed from a NitWit Collection Digital Download
All important "Images" from Joanna Sheen`s ATC Assistant CD
Flowers and pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts

If you have never had a look at the NitWit collections pop along to the website sometime, there are loads to choose from.  Great for Scrapbookers, lots of papers and embellishments for Digital Scrapbooking.

That`s it for today
Thank you for looking in, it is much appreciated.

"Welcome little Logan"

Sunday 29th July 2012
Good morning and welcome to my Blog today.
Bright here this morning but still very undecided, I do hope it does not do what it did yesterday.   At one point in the day I thought the garden furniture would start floating away, the rain was very similar to "Monsoon Rain".  In between the showers it was nice, even quite warm, Oh! Man! in the showers you would not stand a chance even with an umbrella......................"summer"

My card to today was a request from my Niece.  Plain and simple please, congratulating the parents on the birth of  Logan.

Base card 6 x 6 from Joanna Sheen
Backing paper printed from Rob Adams Gingham, Polka Dot and Tartan CD
Blue card from stash for matting
White band punched with a Martha Stewart Punch, a few buttons from the jar
Topper a pre-printed one from Lili of the Valley these toppers are just great
Sentiment printed on computer.

Lili of the Valley have a great selection of pre-printed Toppers for all occasions.  They are so handy just to have in stock.  They also do Rubber Stamps of these if you are a true Stamper, I am not so these appeal to me
By the way I did say a couple of days ago I would let you know which font I had used on the "Hugs & Kisses" is Annie BTN

That`s it for today
Thank you for visiting my Blog it is much appreciated
