"My Sister my Friend"

Saturday 11th August 2012
Good Morning and welcome!

The sun is up, the sky is blue, looks like another good day.  I got loads done yesterday, no crafting though!!
Two loads, washed, dried, ironed and all put away.  Cleaned some windows, had to leave the ones the sun was shining on, they never clean the same do they??

As some of my early followers will know my "Sister my Friend" has had a rough time this year to say the least.  However Hazel had her last Chemo a week past Tuesday, she is feeling better this week and has set herself goals to achieve each day.  Hazel`s greatest goal throughout has been, to be well enough to get on our annual holiday to Dalyan, Turkey together.  Nearly there Hazel,  good for you, only a few more weeks.  Hazel still has Radio Therapy to have when we get back.  We live approx 35 miles from each other, we phone and text every day, we see each other as much as we can but I still like to send her cards.  This is the latest one I sent, Hazel checks my Blog everyday so I had to wait till I knew she had got it.

Base card approx 5x7 Brown Co-Ordinations card
Pink card from stock
Backing paper a free download from Crafter`s Companion ages ago
Sentiment done on the computer
Rose made using Spellbinders Classic Circles Die
Leaves from Bitty Blossoms Die
I gave the card a slight "Shabby Chic" look
The brown rose is the very first attempt using the circle dies

That`s it for today
Bye! for now and thank you for popping in I really do appreciate it

"All White"

 Friday 10th August 2012
Good afternoon and welcome to my Blog today.  A little later than usual, I was out with my friend Elaine last night.  We went along to her daughters to see "Mia" who was borne last Wednesday afternoon.  Oh! my she is so tiny, 6lbs when she was born and oh! so beautiful.  She was awake when we went in and I got to hold her, she dozed off to sleep but I got to hang on to her all evening it was lovely.  They grow up so quickly, when I think of our two Grandsons 5 & nearly 8 it is hard to believe that they were once that size.  Thomas who will be eight on 1st September is almost 5` tall, he was only 6lbs 4ozs when he was born.  Elaine had picked me up so obviously brought me home, she came in for her usual Thursday evening "Hot Chocolate" but did not go away till after midnight.  I slept in this morning, that has put my day all behind, this seems to be happening more and more after Elaine has been on Thursday evenings   I must get organised to cope with "Late Start" Friday`s.............................

All white is the theme for today

Base card was an 8x8 scalloped card I cut down because I had managed to get a dirty mark on it
The embossed panels cut from white card embossed with Spellbinder Paisley M-Bossing Folder
Piece of lace from my stash
White American Seam Binding
Roses and Pearl embellishment from Wild Orchid Crafts

Card could be used for a wedding card, might just use it as a general card with an appropriate greeting.
That`s it for today
Thank you for looking in on my Blog today it is much appreciated

"Big Sisters"

Thursday 9th August 2012
Good Morning and welcome to my Blog Today.
Rather grey,  looks like it could rain at any moment, I hope it will clear, I am sure it will clear.

Today`s card is one of a few I did for my niece Tammy, she likes her cards to the point and very plain.
This is one is for two little girls who have just got a new baby brother.

Base card 6 x 6 from Joanna Sheen
Backing paper was from a recent magazine
Border using Martha Stewart punch
Green card from Bit Box
Topper from Lili of the Valley
Greeting done on computer
Small butterflies Tonic punch

It is a card that I really do not think you would get in the shops, this is where making them has an advantage.
This was a do-able request and a nice one to create, some I get, I am sure people think I can work "miracles".   I am sure all card makers out there know exactly what I mean!!!!

That`s it for today
Thank you for looking in it is much appreciated

"The Potting Shed"

Tuesday 7th August 2012
Good Morning and welcome to my Blog today.  Weather a bit undecided, rather threatening clouds about, but you never know it might just clear up as the day goes on.....ever the optimist me!!

My card today is the one I did for the Joanna Sheen Card Swap for August, the theme for this month is "A Mans Card".  I sent it away a couple of days ago so it should have arrived.

Base Card a DL pre-printed wood effect I got from Card Creations some time ago
Little die cut flower pots from Dianne`s Die cuts £2 a pkt with loads in it
Leaves cut from my favourite Crealies Die
Sentiment done on computer, distressed, attached with a brad

I keep thinking about buying a CriCut Die Cutting machine, when I see the selection of Die Cuts that Dianne has to choose from, they are so reasonable, I just order any I need from her..........sorted.    Will spend my pennies on more Spellbinder Dies, which I love.

That`s it for today
Thank you for popping in it is much appreciated

"New Paper Roses"

Monday 6th August 2012
Good morning, welcome, thank you popping in today.
Weather rather undecided at the moment, hopefully we can have a nice day.  Yesterday was not that great weather wise but it did not actually rain till mid afternoon so that was something.

I have an experiment to share with you today.  Yesterday I was trawling looking at all the new Spellbinder Dies that they have on pre-order for release mid August.  I do have a few on order but I still like to have a wee look now and again.  I was looking at the new Blossom Die they have which is separate fancy edged circle Dies rather than the spiral ones of the other Blossom Dies they have done in the past.   It made me think................if you can make flowers from that, I am sure I could make similar with the Classic Circle Dies.  So!!! that`s what I experimented with, here is a card I made with some my results.  I still have a way to go to get things right but not too bad for the first attempt.  The new Blossom Dies will give softer edges as they have large scallops.  What do you think???

Base Card 6 x 6 cut down a little
Paper doily I had in my box
Used some of the distress ink I used on the roses to colour the edge of the doily
Piece of purple card  embossed with Cuttlebug Folder - Swiss Dots
The roses are sitting on a silver base of one of the hearts I make as pendants
(look back into June to see these)
A bow of lace, I got a bag of this lace from Jackie on the Joanna Sheen Forum
Some Die Cut leaves and a little silver heart charm from my stash

That`s it for today
If you have time, comments on my attempts would be appreciated

"Pink Birthday"

Sunday 5th August 2012
Good Morning and welcome to my Blog today.  Very early, really do not know what the weather will bring today.  We had wonderful weather yesterday, reminded me of Summer!!!! I was very busy, decided to paint all the Wrought Ironwork round the house............there is lots and lots.  Got the whole lot done and felt great till I sat and fell asleep for and hour before tea time.  Well! Oh! well!!! trying to get out of the chair was a bit of a struggle, after John helped me he said....................."Patricia, remember you are not as young as you used to be"............Oh! really, when did that happen????

A little birthday card for my neighbour Anne, we have great next door neighbours they are there but we really never see them unless we contact each other.  It is not that we don`t want to chat, we have a big garden, they have a big garden so there is quite a distance between the houses.

White Base Card 4 x 6
Pink Matt with a doily cut from a Marianne`s Die folded over the top
A border punched with a Martha Stewart punch
American Seam Binding bow tied on my homemade Bow Maker
Flower made using Spellbinders Blossom 1Die
Leaves made with my favourite Crealies Die from Joanna Sheen
Butterfly from by stash
Sentiment done on the computer
All matted onto the Base Card

A very simple card, ready and waiting for Anne`s birthday later this week.
That`s it for today
