"Roberts Card for Mummy"

Saturday 18th August 2012
Good Evening and welcome to my Blog.
Rather late today the boys have just gone home rather reluctantly.  They wanted to stay another night, daddy has been away in Barcelona for a few days and will want them in the house when he gets home.  He misses them when he has been away, once they were told this they were happy enough to go.  Thomas and his Grandpa went off on a cycle run this morning leaving Robert and I to do what we like to do....PLAY!! with paper.

This is Roberts card for his mummy, he loves to use my dies and the Cuttlebug so I just let him get on with it stepping in if he needs help. He does not bad for a 5 year old, he does the choosing of the card, paper and the dies he wants to use.

Base card A4 Purple pearlised card folded
Backing paper from Joanna Sheen Eastern Treasures CD
I had this set aside to use on a card - he liked it!!!
Ovals cut from Spellbinders Fancy Ovals Dies
Dragon Fly also a Spellbinders Die

Only bit I helped with, was getting the backing paper on, the rest he did himself, even trying a bit of distressing on his Dragon fly.  I wanted him to put something in the corners but he was having none of it.  That`s the way he wanted it and as it was his card, Robert`s decision was final...........

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling by, hope you like Robert`s first blogged card

"Another Pink Rose"

Friday 17th August 2012
Good Afternoon and welcome to my Blog today
My Thursday friend Elaine stayed very late as usual last night.  Waved her off at 12.20, by the time I got myself organised and into bed it must have been nearer 1am, the same result every Friday I sleep late.

Today`s card started off to be a Tag Card  but I had a "blond moment"and cut my base too short to accommodate all that I wanted to put on it

Base card 5 x 7 approx
Pink card from stock slightly distressed round the edges
White card embossed using Spellbinders M-Bossiblity Folder "Paisley"
Lace from my box
Rose made using Spellbinders Classic Circles Dies
Foliage a selection already cut and in my box
Pink American Seam Binding
Heart charm bought in a bundle at Hobbycraft Show in Glasgow

Probably will not have anything for tomorrow, the boys are coming for tea and a sleep over so  not much time for me to "Play" myself.  No doubt there will be things made by them we will see what materialises

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling in, I do appreciate your visit

"Little bit of Blue"

Thursday 16th August 2012
Good Morning and welcome to my Blog
Sky is is clear, wind has dropped, looks like it could be a rather nice day once it gets going

Yesterday I was determined NOT to do another Pink card, so here is what I came up with
I was also busy making Heart Pendants using up some "orange" beads
I really do not do orange but I know lots of people like it
Hazel and I have a Craft Fair at Glamis on 25th August we are Fundraising for the Chemo Unit at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.  I just hope it does not rain as it is in the street, on a good day this is a great event.  We have done it for a few years, luckily we have been lucky for weather, so finger crossed

Base card 5 x 7 approx Centura Pearl
White card embossed with Spellbinders M-Bossing folder "Splendid"
Piece of white card I pierced the edge and rounded corners
Piece of Turquoise card from my Bit Box
White cut with Spellbinders Floral Oval Die (2nd largest)
Turquoise Classic Oval
Greeting a stamp from £1 box at Hobbycraft Shop in Dundee
Leaves Spellbinders Foliage
Rose a stamped image done 4 times then cut and  fiddled with....!
Pearl Pins from Wild Orchid Craft
Piece of ribbon from my Ribbon Box

Another card that once it was all put together I thought of things I should have done, like embossing the larger piece of turquoise

That`s it for today
Thanks for calling by I do appreciate it

"Coffee, Cream and Roses"

Wednesday 15th August 2012
Good Morning and welcome to my Blog today
Looking out at the moment it is grey, looks rather cold and it is windy.  Oh! where Oh! where did our summer go??  Apart from a Patio Rose all the roses in the garden have struggled this year.  They start to come out, down comes the rain, next time you look they are rotten.  However my roses today should last a little longer.  I found some rose paper in our Grandsons Craft Cupboard when I was cleaning it out the other day.  I do not normally do "orange" so I had given it to them, it was rather crumpled but I managed to save a bit for today`s card.

Base card 5 x 7 approx
Cut from my Co-Ordination 12 x 12 Naturals Pad
Cream card stock embossed with Spellbinders (Paisley) M-Bossing Folder
Strip of rose paper from Making Cards Magazines
Border cut using Spellbinders Sue Wilson Design Die
Leaves Spellbinders Foliage Dies
Rose made using Classic Circle Dies and 160gsm card also found in boys cupboard
Brown 5mm pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts
Ribbon from my Ribbon Box

Funny when the card is all put together you see the mistakes.  I should have either raised the border die on foam pads or cut it in the darker card, will know the next time.............!!
The rose paper was a Nancy Watt paper from making Cards Magazine. They give fantastic quality papers each month, not always to my taste.  If that`s the case the boys get some, the rest goes in a bag with other "Bits" once the bag is full it goes to their school.  The children use the bits, it is amazing the amount of things the boys have made where I actually recognise some, at least I know they do use them.

That`s it for today
Can I just say "Thank You" to the people who have been popping in to look at my Blog.  All of them do not leave comments but I do appreciate the visit.

"Pink Again"..............

Tuesday 14th August 2012
Good Morning and welcome!
Weather a bit better today thank goodness, yesterday was shocking.  We had "monsoon" style rain most of the morning.  Never mind, every cloud has a silver lining, I got the house all done, and I had time to play.

Sorry! today`s card is "Pink" yet again, it is not one of the ones I made while it poured rain.  I did this on Sunday along with the one I showed yesterday.  You will see the bird topper is the same as the three toppers used for my last post.  The photography for my latest cards was all out of focus for some reason, will have to take them again once we have some daylight.

Base card 5 x7 cut from dark pink card
Striped card and bird card are from my Tilda Flowergarden 12 x 12 pad
both matted onto burgundy card for contrast
Rosette was cut from Pink Polka dot paper, I punched the edge
Roses created from pieces of all the card/paper I had used for the actual card
Roses and Leaves from Crealies Dies from Joanna Sheen
Ribbon from my Ribbon Box
Tag punched out and hand written
I made the bow using my "Home made" Bow maker, really could not work without that.

Our two Grandson go back to school today after their summer break................oh! what summer??
Just does not seem like 6 weeks since they came off, mum and dad might think different.

That`s it for today
Thank you for stopping by to have a look, I really do appreciate it, also all your lovely comments.

"Very Pink"

Monday 13th August 2012
Good Morning and welcome to my Blog on this miserable, rainy Monday morning.
Never mind the weather is awful but it is a day that I can spend Crafting once I get the house in order.  I do not do going out in the rain unless it is really necessary.  I really do not need anything today so I feel I will just stay at home.................. and play!!!!

Card for today was inspired by "In the Pink Blog challenge"  I tried to enter a card yesterday and boy! did I get that all wrong.  I am hopeless on the computer..........OK! enough said about that some day! maybe some day I will manage

Base card 7 x 6 approx cut from Burgundy pearl card
Pink polka dot backing paper and pink card from my stash
Pink and white bird card from "Tilda" Flower Garden 12x12 card pack I got as an offer in a Magazine
Lace and stick pins from Wild Orchid crafts
American seam binding from my ribbon box
Felt rose and sentiment my "me"

I mounted each of the panels on some burgundy card to make them stand out, mounted these onto a piece of pink card before mounting the whole lot onto polka dots and the base card.

I was clearing out our Grandson`s crafty cupboard yesterday..........Oh! Wow! what a load of rubbishy BITS were in there.   You know what children do when told to" tidy up" everything gets put ...out of sight......."TIDY"   During my clear out I found 3 pieces of felt that I had forgotten I had ..............the result...........some felt roses!!!!

That`s it for today
Thank you so much for taking time to visit it is much appreciated

"From the Heart"

Sunday 12th August 2012
Good Morning and welcome!!
Up very early this morning, still not quite daylight so looks rather dull out there.
Nothing much on for today that I know of at the moment, will see what happens when "Sleeping Beauty" wakens, that`s hubby John by the way........................!!!!

My card today was inspired by something I saw the other day when I was in Blairgowrie shopping.  There is a little shop that does, making curtains, cushions and these material Banners for all occasions, rather American in some ways I would say.  Anyway, in the window they had these really nice Canvases with initials on them decorated with buttons, rather expensive they were.  I thought Mmmm!! buttons!! I have loads, not enough of any one colour to make one of my Button Necklaces but enough for things like that.  When I got back home I had a little rummage, in the Button Jar, I just love! stirring all the buttons in the jar, here is what came it.

Base card 5 x 7 approx cut from A3 Centura Pearl
Pink card from stock, scalloped edge done with a Spellbinder Edge-abilities die
A page torn and distressed from my English /Turkish Dictionary
(Did not do me that much good when we lived there so might as well put it to good use now)
A heart using a Die I have no idea who`s it is or where I got it
Buttons from my Button Box
Piece of pink ribbon and a heart charm from stash
Sentiment done on computer

The Beaded heart is one of a few I made yesterday.  I am getting stock ready for the Craft Fair Hazel and I have a table at, on 25th August in the village at Glamis Castle.  I just thought the colours went together.

That`s it for today
Thank you for looking in today it is much appreciated.
