"Botanical Birthday"

Good Morning Blog friends, thank you so much for all the kind comments you  have been taking time to leave. I do read each and every one.  I have a box that I am adding "Crafty Bits" to, it will be given away when my followers get to 40.

Today`s card is made using one of the new Spellbinder Shapeabilities Expandable Pattern Dies
I love the effect you get with this BUT it does not cut out all the bits.  There are lots you have to cut out using a very sharp craft knife.  I really don`t mind doing this apart from the fact that you really have to concentrate on what you are cutting.  Have not tried to expand the design as yet,  I was so excited getting the first one cut. Cut out like a knife through butter, I did use some waxed paper with this die,

Base card made my favourite size approx 5 x 7 Tent Style
Purple card with my Botanical Swirl Die Cut on top,  isn't that just so pretty???
Tied a Triple Loop bow added a Creative Expressions Dazzler from Sam Poole Crafts
Of course there has to be the Roses........3 of them cut using Blossom Five Die
Couple of stick pins I have had in my stash for ever it seems.  Never used them because of the brightness of the colour but I think they fit in fine here

Remember the Fancy Lattice Die that I said was difficult to cut? it has been posted back to IconUk.  I also got the Basic Lattice Die, it cuts a dream.  I phoned Icon, got a very nice lady who I told my story to she said to send it back, we will replace it.  This company have most of the Spellbinder Dies at great prices, very fast delivery and free P&P now I can also say great Customer Service.  I must add I have over 100 Spellbinder die sets , this is the first I have ever had a problem with.

Tomorrow I promise there will be NO roses....................
That`s it for today
Thank you again for popping in I really do appreciate your visit

"Monochrome Box"

Good Morning Blog friends, thank you for popping in today, I love to know that you have called.  If you have time please leave a message I love to read them all.

Have not been feeling too good since getting back however Hazel came over to visit yesterday, that fairly cheered me up.  That`s the first time she has been over on her own since she had her operation and started treatment, another BIG step along the way Hazel.   I had nothing really planned for today`s post, after Hazel left I had a look through my new dies, had a thought when I saw a die in the  Spellbinders Marvelous Squares pack.
The die has little slits round the perimeter perfect to thread ribbon through.  I was going to make a card then I thought if I threaded the ribbon through 4 die cuts I could make a box..... me and my boxes!!!!

Firstly I measured the size of the die cut and decided to make a box 31/4" x 4" made the lid 31/4" x 31/4" with a lid depth of 9/16" odd size I know but it fits
Made the box with Centura Pearl Card
I then worked on the decorative bit...........
Cut 4 squares in black card using the second die in on the set
Laid them all out and threaded American Seam Binding along them all sicking the ends down inside.
Then I "Wove" Seam  downwards again sticking inside after pulling all the slack in on the ribbon.
Stuck this round the outside of the box I had made, fitted pretty good I thought
Decorated the lid with a little bit of lace I found earlier in the day.
Made quadruple loop bow with American Seam Binding using my trusty Hand Made Bowmaker
Of course nothing at the moment is finished off if it does not have a "Rose"
Rose cut using Spellbinder Blossom Five Die in black then sprayed with Iridescent Spray and Sparkle form Crafter`s Companion.

This project was a lot of work but I really enjoyed doing it.  I am sure the next one will be better but you have to start some where.................!!!

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling by, your visit really is appreciated

Thank you for all the well wishes, I am a lot better today.
Think I picked up a bug on the flight home, re-cycled air is really not good for you, is it???

"Thank You Card"

Thursday 13th September 2012
Good Morning Blog friends, thank you for calling by, if you have time please leave a message to let me know you were here, I love reading them all.

Today`s card is one of my "Thank You" cards, to send or give to the people who gave me a gift.  It was my birthday yesterday, I was very lucky, I got some beautiful gifts.

Base card 5 x 7 approx cut from A3 card
Backing Paper printed from My Craft Studio Florigraphy CD2
Spellbinders Fancy Lattice Die
Rose made using Spellbinders Blossom Five Die
Spellbinders Foliage die for the leaves
Lace from my Lace Box
Pearl pins from Wild Orchid Crafts

The Fancy Lattice Die is one of a few recent purchases from my supplier of  Spellbinders Dies,
Iconuk.co.uk.   Oh! My! Word! was that Die a bother to cut!!!!!
I had to run it through so many times, added shims, a real pain in fact, I do love the effect though.
I have always cut my Roses using my Classic Circles dies, have to say the Blossom Five gives a really nice edge.

That`s it for today
Thank you for visiting, it is much appreciated

"Pretty Little Miss"

Wednesday 12th September 2012

Good Morning Blog friends thank you for coming back to see me after my holiday.  Your comments mean a lot to me, I will get back to you all in the next few days.

Did not get any time to play yesterday, well if I am honest, I fell asleep in the chair yesterday afternoon.  That just put all my plans on the back burner.  There is only a 2 hour difference between here and Turkey but boy! oh! boy! this year it seems to have knocked me for six.

My card today is one I had done before I went on holiday, unfortunately it looks rather pale.

Base card approx 5 x 7
I think the backing paper was an Anna Griffen paper
Pink matt
The image is a Digital Image I have had for ages and use a lot
Image coloured using Copics
Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts

Ok folks that`s it for today, I really am determined I will get those dies out of their packets today

Thank you you for popping by today, please leave a message to say you called I really appreciate them all.

"Little corner of Paradise"

Tuesday 11th September 2012
Good Morning Blog friends, if you are visiting today please leave a wee message to let me know you called by.  I will get round to visiting you all in the next couple of days.

That`s Hazel and I back from our holiday in our little corner of paradise.  It was Hazel`s goal to get here from the day she was diagnosed with Cancer of the Womb.  Boy what a trooper, she did really well I am so proud of her.  This is the view we got sitting at the pool in the shade, Hazel got strict instruction "NO" direct sun on her skin, boy! did  I made sure of that...............

I have received some new dies while I was away, they are beautiful.  The case is emptied, once I get the washing done, all the bits and pieces put away, I will be playing, so watch this space.

Bye for now
Thanks for dropping in I really appreciate it
