"Gran & Grandad`s Anniversary"

Good morning and welcome to my Blog today, so happy to have you call in.  If you have a minute please leave a message so I know you came by.   Welcome to my new followers I am so happy you have decided to join me on this Blogging journey.
Thank you all for your good wishes for Hazel, she really appreciates the fact that none of you know her but still take time to wish her well.   Hazel still has not got round to leaving any messages.  She does not want you all to think she is praising her own sister, she tells me each day what she thinks of my creations.
Got an order for an Anniversary  card for a Gran & Grandad.  The couple in question are old farmers, I showed some of my cards then I was asked if I had any comical style images.  This MoManning one came to mind, well it is the only older couple one I have, did not tell the customer that though..............!!!  She said "Perfect, that`s them to a T"   "Gentle colours please and nothing too bulky it is going in the post"

Here is what I came up with, which my customer seemed pleased with.

 Base Card 5 x 7 approx
Anna Griffen papers from my stash

Image a download from MoManning Digital Pencil
I coloured the image using copics
Sorry I forgot to write down which colours I used
Matted this onto Silver Mirri then Green card
The light reflection makes the Silver look gold
I popped the lilac ribbon on and a ready made flower
Greeting done on the computer
Added a few glass flat backed beads I found

These Anna Griffin papers I have had for years .  Brought them back from the States, I am determined to use them rather than Admire, Stroke and put back in the box.  I made this decision a few months ago but there are still loads in that box, not really getting on well with using them up.
It so ridiculous as there are always so many more pretty papers coming onto the market that are must have.....
MoManning does some super download images if you have not had a look you must pop in, I am sure there will be something you like.

That`s it for today
Thank you so much for visiting I really do appreciate it

"A little shabby"

Good morning Blog friends, thank you far calling by today. I love to have you visit, if you have time please leave a message so I know you called.
Our boys are back, the peace has been broken but it is worth it to have them in the house again.  They came for tea, we got all the stories about the boys and girls they met while on their holiday. Who they had liked and those they were not so keen on...........children are so funny.   Now my sister is away for a few days with her hubby, all this coming and going.  Hazel will be back to work Full Time in a couple of weeks, it has been a long haul but at last the treatments are finished, she will get back to normality.  We will miss all our free time together.  Being with her so much this year through all her treatments has brought us even closer than we were and that has always been very close.    I am so proud of how she has tackled everything she has been through.  Without any doubt, her positivity has got her where she is today.

My card today is a little shabby................I do not like the colour of the ribbon although the photo shows it worse than it actually is, the colour is a little more of a pinky brown.

Base card white 5 x 7 approx
Backing paper a download from a Nit Wit collection
White card embossed using Paisley M-Bossing Folder
I linked three Rectangle bits I had in my Bit Box with ribbon
Cut the Butterflies in contrasting colours (I love these Butterflies)
Sentiment I wrote myself.
Pearl embellishment from Wild Orchid Crafts
I distressed the edges and used Fired Brick and Antique Paper distress inks
Embossing Folders and Dies are all Spellbinder

That`s it for today
Thank you for popping in, I really appreciate it

"Autumn Wreath"

Good Morning Blog friends, another day another cardOpps! just had a thought that`s the name of Edna`s Blog, hope does not mind me using it as a quote.
Thank you for calling in again today, I really love to have you visit.

I saw on CarolsZ`s Blog a few weeks ago some of her beautiful wreaths, it made me have a wee think.  The only time we have a wreath on the door is at Christmas, I should think about changing that.................  When we were in the woods the other week the boys and I collected some Fir Cones with intentions of making an Autumn Wreath, that`s not done as yet.  Might get round to it when they get back from holiday.  They arrive home very early today so no doubt they will be along at some point either this evening or tomorrow.

Although I have not got round to making a wreath for my front door here is a card I made yesterday showing an Autumn wreath.
Using some more of that dreaded "Green" card again, it has to be used up . Actually I think I will just donate the rest to the boys school.  I am sure the children will use it without a second thought.

Base card approx 6 x 6
Green co-ordinations card
White card embossed using a Marianne's Emboss & Cut Die
Edge of the card is decorated using a Martha Stewart Punch
I also punched the same design on another co-ordinating piece of green card
Really do not know why I have put that piece of ribbon across the card!!!
I cut out a circle to put all the bits on to keep the design "round"
Finished it off with a bow and a few pearls

That`s it for today
Thank you once again for popping in to have a look, I really do appreciate it

"Cats on a Bag"

Good Morning Blog friends, I know I say it almost every morning but it is true!  I love having you call by.  When you leave all those wonderful comments it makes this Blogging Lark so much more fun.  I never for one moment thought I would ever have got this far.  I am not good at the technical side of the Computer, don`t ask me to put on added extras .......I just can`t.  To be honest I often wonder how I ever managed to set this Blog up and running in the first place.  I just kept pressing buttons and Bingo it was there.  I am not a stupid person BUT I just can not get my head round the techy stuff.  No point saying it is an "age thing", I know people older than me who have absolutely NO problems. I have had help from a few of my fellow Bloggers for that I am very grateful, thank you, you know who you are.
See what I mean, try as I have I can not get these images balanced...!!!

Today`s offering was inspired by seeing this image on Kasey-in-Oz Blog.  I had downloaded the image from Little Claire but had never used it.  I actually had forgotten all about it.  You know how it is you see something, it triggers a response then once you have it, the blooming project you had in mind just disappears.   Now that is an age thing!!!!   This is not even what I had in mind for the image but there you go.

In Pink card  I cut 2 of the largest Floral Oval Die
Printed the image and cut that out with the next size down Floral Oval Die
I managed to "flip" the image, on opposite sides the cats are facing a different way
Bitty Blossoms Die for the flowers
A Die I had for the leaves
Made a Handle using a Martha Stewart Punch
I made a little half box to go between the ovals that I attached the handle to
This little bag would hold a small gift
I am off to make one with a Christmas theme
Dies used are all Spellbinder

That`s it for today
You never know what tomorrow might bring
Thank you for calling by to visit I really appreciate it

"Shoes and Bags"

Good Morning Blog friends, I hope you are all well.  Thank you so much for popping into visit and leaving all your lovely messages.  Oh! My! Word! I now have 50 followers can you believe that???? I am so excited ............50 ...........I can`t believe it!!!!!

My goodness the mornings are so dark.........I am not so keen on this!!!!!
Nothing exciting happening here, and as "Sleeping Beauty" is still in the land of Nod!! I have not a clue what we will be doing today.  Yesterday we cleared out all the guttering round the house, tidied away a lot of the pots, got all the garden furniture stored away.  Mind you it was kind of a waste of time bringing them out this year.  I think we had lunch sitting out once or twice but never manged to have our evening meal sitting out......... next year maybe next year.

Today`s card is one I did for the October Card Swap on the Joanna Sheen Forum.  I posted it last week so the person should have it by now I would think.  The theme for this month was "Shoes and Bags"  I made the base card to represent the Bag, I used a template I found while rummaging for something totally different to make the shoe.

Base card was cut to fit the project approx 8 x 6
Brown card stock embossed with Spellbinder M-Bossibility Paisley Folder
I did some Faux stitching to represent the stitching on a bag
Shoe is made using downloaded papers from Nit Wit Collection and a template
A little label for the footbed to balance the design
Flowers made using Spellbinder Bitty Blossom Die and the left over bits from the shoe
Leaves Crealie Die
Button was a Sizzix die I found in the same rummage as the template
Did not know you could Sizzex Dies with the Cuttlebug but I managed.

Talking about Sizzex that was my very first die cutting machine and OMG!!! what a weight.  If my back was bothering me there was no way on earth I could even lift the blooming thing, then you had to pump that handle.  Thank goodness for my wee Bug.........and my Grand Calibur.  I kept thinking I should treat myself to a CriCut but have ruled that out, I love my Spellbinder Dies too much.  I don`t have a Craft Room so it would be put away and probably forgotten about.   I have a fairly large kitchen, wall and floor units, hold lots of my "STUFF" plus a 2mtr work top to work on.  The down side of this is I have to tidy everything away each time I have finished a project. Thank goodness I have a very tolerant husband.  Mind you he has to be, his Model Railway covers all of the attic, and some parts of his layout is on two levels.  I think he is frightened I suggest sharing the Attic with him.....not a chance it is too flaming cold up there in the middle of the winter even though there is heating, I have not told him that though!!!!   My kitchen is a nice cosy place for me.

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling by I really do appreciate it

"A Gift Bag"

Good Morning Blog Friends, well here we are once again at the start of a new week.  Wonder what this one will bring??
Thank you for calling by and leaving your messages to let me know you were here.  I love to read them all.

I made this Gift Bag to pop a bottle Hand Cream in for a friend.  I actually thought I might hold one of these Hand Washes but they have the nozzle that makes them just a bit too big for this.  That was a bit of a "Bummer" as I have orders for a few of these Hand Washes Gift boxed.   I thought this was a  nicer option, never mind making and decorating boxes will keep me busy.

This project looks far more complicated than it is.  The worst bit for me was figuring out how to use my Classic Circle Die to only cut half circles for the handles.........................!!!! easy once the "Penny Dropped"...........talk about slow!!!!

The whole bag was made from 2 pieces of 12 x 12  card stock.   Oh! sorry and a couple of bits from the Bit Box for leaves.
Ribbon from my Ribbon Box

All Dies Used were Spellbinder
Grand Labels One for the base
Classic Circles to cut the hole for handle
Blossom Five for the Roses
Foliage Die for Leaves

That`s it for today
Thank you so much for calling in each day I really do appreciate it

"Those Roses once again"

Good Morning Blog friends, well here we go, it is Sunday once again, my goodness where are the weeks going???
I have been up for ages, the ironing is done, I am on my 2nd cuppa and it is still only silly minutes past stupid o`clock....................!!!
Thank you for popping by and leaving all those lovely comments, I feel so privileged to get them from all you talented crafter`s.
John Jnr, Audrey and the boys are already half way through their holiday to the sunshine in Cyprus. My goodness Grandpa is really missing them.  We would have gone but he has gone right off flying since we had a couple of trips Turkey last year and one to Belfast earlier this year.  We had such a carry on in Belfast Airport on our way home , he did say then he was never flying again................... the Belfast trip well that`s another story.........!!!
I love Belfast, Hazel and I  spent quite a few years when we were younger.  I still keep in close contact with my school friend, we see each other a fair bit throughout the year.

The colour of my card today is "Way Out" of my comfort zone.  I know I really should try this more often but it is hard.  Being a Virgo I am so set in my ways and the way I do things.  Bet you have all guessed that by now...............................  I was looking in my card stock and thought, I have to use this BUT on what??  Well here we go, this is what I came up with.  I think the Lattice in the background has helped to soften the effect.

Base Card was 8 x 8 till I cut it back a bit
Green Co-ordinations Card Stock
White card cut with Spellbinders Lattice Die
Green card, I ran a Fired Brick Distressing pad along the edge
Cheery Lynn Doily Die
Roses cut using Spellbinder Bitty Blossoms and Blossom Five Die
I cut the flowers in white and used chalks on them just for a change
Leaves Spellbinder Foliage and Marianne Dies
Tiny Butterflies were cut using a punch that was in the boys Craft Cupboard

That`s it for today
Thank you  for visiting I really do appreciate it
