"Butterfly Magic"

Hello Blog friends, I say this a lot but I do love having you here in my little corner of Blogland.
I hope you enjoy your visits and maybe get a little bit of inspiration from what I have shown.  I know I get lots of ideas when I go off Blog Hopping.

The snow is really piling up here.  It has been on all day non stop, I just hope the blooming stuff does not freeze overnight.
Plenty food in, was running out of fruit, Isobel phoned over to ask if we needed anything.  She was going off to Forfar with her hubby to get some shopping.  Isobel a nurse had been working horrible shifts all week did not manage to get a BIG shop done.  Gave her a list of what I wanted so I will get them when she pops over in the evening.  Thought they were a bit silly when you see the conditions but Hey! Ho! they are back so no harm done.  It is wonderful to have great neighbours, living in a tiny rural community comes with benefits.

Today`s card uses the beautiful Butterfly Die from Spellbinders.
I love the effect you get, it is another one of these that does not cut right to the edge.
Really do not know why they have been designed that way.   You don`t have to but I like to cut away the bits round the edge it is much more defined that way.

Base card 5 x 7 approx
White card pierced round the edge
A piece of green patterned card
Butterfly die cut in the green card I used for base
Butterfly and flower cut out in white and mounted to give depth and contrast
Pearls from my stash

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling in I really appreciate it

Patricia  xx

  2. Hello again Patricia,
What do I say, FAB-U-LOUS, really liking the colour of this one, an unusal green, the backing paper matches perfectly. Really beautiful, you really have patience to snip all them edges out, I just don't use these dies, as I make a mess of the edges, and I don't like it with the bits left on, lol.
Have a good day tomorrow, keep warm.

  10. Morning Patricia, I love this card, beautiful colours together, I too love this die, I have just completed a card using this die, but like you, I can't understand why they have left some of the edges attached.
Stay warm. My linedance class was cancelled yesterday, I was glad in a way, because I was really worrying about driving in this 'stuff', I have a different linedance class today, will they or won't they cancel this one ?? ha ha.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  11. Hi Patricia
Your card is lovely and I adore the colour scheme, its so fresh and clean. A sign of spring to come!
The reason for the die not having an edge blade is to allow the user to cut a continuous pattern. They match up perfectly edge to edge. However for us to cut anything like a full 12 x 12 diecut sheet they will have to invent a mighty big machine with a very wide mouth. Only thing you can do at the moment is cut long strips of diecut card, guilotine off the edges and then match them up in rows to create anything bigger. To me its worth it though cos the look is amazing.
Oh dear I had a bit of verbal diarrhea then! Lol. Sorry about that, when I like something I get very attached to them!!
Anyway, a splendid creation. Thank you for sharing. Have good day. Hugs Linda xx
