"Scalloped Edge Card"

Hello Blog friends, well today has been such a contrast to what we had yesterday.  Sun has shone all day, the deep snow has almost gone.

Thank you for popping into my little corner of Blogland to see what I have been up to.

I started this morning with some Scalloped circle Dies cut out along with other bits to make today`s project.  That went out the window when Audrey phoned to say Robert was not very well.  He had the cold but it has now affected his ears, we all know that can be rather painful.  They are off school for Half Term so not loosing any learning time which is good.   Anyway their only request when they are not too good is "can you phone and ask Grandpa to come along".  Always Grandpa till it comes to feeding time in this house, then they come looking for me.    So guess where we spent most of the day!!!   John and I left there and headed further along into Forfar to do some food shopping.  Shopping all done, fruit bowls filled again, Veg Rack full and other things in the cupboard.  Not that we want any more snow but we are stocked up anyway.

Robert is fine looks awful, wee white face, they both are very slim (not for the lack of eating and drinking gallons of milk) when the are ill they can look like wee waifs......................LOL, thank goodness they are very rarely ill.    Tomorrow is another day, Robert was just beginning to wilt again as we left.   I am sure he will have been asleep by the time we go to Forfar.

Back home for tea then a quick put together of my card, so here we are:-

Base card was an 8 x 8 white card I cut with a Spellbinder Grand Circle Die.
I then ran the front of the card though an Embossing Folder
Green floral card from my Tilda Paper Stack "Kitchen Garden" cut with the next size down
I cut the same floral card with Spellbinder Fancy Lattice Die
White card cut using Spellbinder largest Stately Circles with a plain circle Die to cut a frame which I placed over the Lattice
Spellbinder Blossom Five for the flower which is cut using the reverse side of the Floral card
Some die cut leaves from my Die Cut Bit Box
White American Seam Binding for my bow

That`s it for today
Thank you for visiting I really appreciate it

"My Valentine"

Hello Blog friends, snowed in again!!!!   The snow started this morning about 7am, has not stopped since.  The weather men are saying it will turn to rain by this evening, we will see.
Thank you for taking time to visit, and for all your wonderful comments on my work.  My only hope is that someone, some where will get a little encouragement, from what they see, that would make me happy.

Because of the snow it meant that I had to stay in and "CRAFT" awful, I loved it.  There was a down side, I had one of those days that everything I thought I wanted to do did not work out as I imagined it would.   Never mind here is one that I did manage to complete.

Base card 5 x 7 White Centura Pearl from Crafter`s Companion
Pink card from "Pink Card" Box
Floral Card from a Tilda Paper Stack
Large Heart cut out using a Memory Box Die
Small Heart,  Memory Box Precious Hearts Die
Organza Ribbon from my Ribbon Stash tied in a Triple Bow
Pearls from my stash

Have you seen all those wonderful new Dies from Spellbinders..................Oh! My! Goodness! what temptation.  I have so far resisted.   When you look at them very carefully there are a few that are really just up-grades of what they have already produced.  Oh! Yes! I know they are a bit more fancy, they will be better,  but do I really NEED any...........I am saving for going to Birmingham in November.   I know it is a long way off but there is bound to be lots more out by then, I am sure I have enough to keep me going till November.........I think!!!!!

That`s it for today
Thank you for popping in I really appreciate you stopping to look

"Pink/White and Flat"

Hello blog friends, thank you for calling by today, love to have you come and visit.

Yesterday I was out all day, got hardly anything done so today has been "Catch up Day"
My Thursday evening crafty friend Elaine and her husband have come out of retirement to open up a new business.  They are opening a Tearoom and will be selling Craft Goods made by Elaine and others including me.  Don`t know what I will be putting in, still thinking hard about it.   I have known this for weeks but was sworn to silence till the Lease was Signed and Sealed.  I was with Elaine all yesterday planning and chatting.  Her husband is a Master Baker, has been for years he still does some baking for orders but just has a small commercial oven.  They have invested in BIG ovens and bigger premises for the bakery which is not at the Tearoom.  Bakery goods will be brought in fresh each day from their bakery premises.  All very exciting I just hope it all goes well for them..

Today`s card is an order which has to be posted, the customer wanted it kept as flat as possible.

Base card white Centura Pearl from Crafter`s Companion
White card
Lilac card
Pink and white patterned card
White card Die cut using Spellbinder Botanical Swirl Die
Tag stamped with a greeting
Few Die cut leaves using a Crealie Die from Joanna Sheen and a pearl from my stash.
Cosmic Shimmer Glue for the corner Pearls.

That`s it for today
Thank you for popping in I really appreciate it.
Hope you liked today`s offering

"Recycling Again"

Welcome Blog friends, great to have you here with me in my little corner of Blogland. Thank you for continuing to call and leave all your lovely comments I love to read each and every one..

My regular visitors will remember my friend Pearl has been flooded out of her house.  We see a fair bit of each another, I try to help as much as I can to keep her cheery.  Not easy when you are not in you own home with all your things around you.   Pearl came on Saturday with her two Granddaughters looking to borrow some Baking Trays for the girls to make Tray Bakes for a school project.  They have to make and sell things to raise money for schools in Africa.   I had made a couple of these Origami Boxes for them to sell which they thanked me for.   While they were at the house they were asking for ideas for other things to make and sell that did not cost a lot of money.   I showed them a couple of tins that I was working on.  Just empty "Ring Pull" cans well washed out.  I told them what to do but they looked rather confused.  That of course led to them staying and working with me.  I always have a stack of these tins, the boys like to work on this kind of thing.  The girls went away with their tins which I forgot to photograph.  These are the two I worked on to show them what to do.  Now they are finished I will give these to Pearl to give to the girls.

Taller tin was a Creamed Rice tin, the smaller Baked Beans.

I covered the tins with corrugated card, kept from a parcel that had come.
Painted them with a coloured paint, left to dry then gone over with white paint and rubbed back
You need to line the tin with card on the inside to just above the rim as the edge is sharp
Decorate with whatever you have in the box that crafter`s always have:-
I found some stamped sentiments, some roses and leaves.  The butterfly is Waxed Paper Waste.
Bingo you have nice tins to pop Pens and Pencils in,  the taller one is good for Brushes

The girls were delighted with what they made.  They went away with a load of bits to do some more.
Just hope they manage to sell them to raise money for their project.

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling in I really appreciate it.

"A Gentleman`s Card"

Hello Blog friends...............yet another New Week in Blogland.   Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Thank you very much for calling by, I love having you here and for always joining me on my crafty journey.
I have said this before, what fascinates me is when I click by Blog I can see the number of visits I have had in a day compared with the number of comments.   The other day I had 99 visits and 22 comments ............who and where are all those others?????  Not that I am particularly looking for more comments I am just curious as to who those others are.
Better stop, you know that old saying.................  "Curiosity Killed the Cat"

The lady in the village who gets me to make most of her cards asked if I could make one for a "Gentleman".  He will be 85 but he is a "Real Gentleman" always very smart and likes everything just right.  Thankfully this time she gave me a week to think about it, normally it`s a couple of hours.

Here is my card, rather simple, she was delighted so I am happy with that.

Base card approx 5 x 7 cream card
Tan coloured card for the border and matt.  I ran a Gold Pen along the edge of these rather than add another matt
Image from Joanna Sheen Fashion Boutique CD Set Disk No1
Little Newspaper is made using a piece of the backing paper with the image sheet
Brass Office Paper Brads
Sentiment done on the computer

That`s it for today
Thank you for popping in I really appreciate it
