"My Cabinet"

Well folks can you believe that it is Friday AGAIN!!!...............where has this week gone.
Thank you for taking time to visit me here in my little corner of Blogland.  I love to have you visit, if you leave a comment I can get back to you and see what you get up to.
Busy, busy, busy again today, did a round trip of almost 100 miles.  Went over to visit Hazel near St Andrews Oh! wow! what a fantastic day, clear blue skies once again, very cold but who cares.  Hazel and I  went to have our hair cut then back to Hazel`s.   Tammy her younger daughter was there and we all had a beautiful Healthy Lunch, Mmmmm!! yummy!!   Home to greet the boys coming in from school.  They were at us for tea tonight, two minutes in the door, and the usual.  Granny do you have something nice for snack.  So half a crusty Loaf and pot of Jam later, they were off with Grandpa on their bikes, all go in this house.

Have not had time to make anything over the past few days.  I thought I would show you my cabinet at the Tea room.

This was taken before it was all finally sorted out but you can get the general idea.
There is another one like this in the opposite corner from mine then there is a bank of six down one wall of the Tearoom.
One lady has some Wedding things in one and another has some Beaded Jewellery in another Elaine has the rest with her things in.
All in all it was looking good when I left yesterday so finger crossed all goes well for them tomorrow.

That`s it for today, off to put my feet up for a while.
Thank you for calling in I really appreciate it
Have a Great Weekend

"Another Gift Bag"

Hello folks! well it has been another beautiful day here once again.  Not the clear blue skies of the past few days but the sun still shone most of the time.
Thank you for popping in to see me, I love having you here.
Short post tonight, I am very, very tired.  I have been at the Tearoom helping Elaine over the past few days. They are opening on Saturday, I have been emptying boxes, washing dishes, generally helping her get things in order.  More or less done and dusted just a few more "tweeks" and it will be up and running.   I gave up work to look after John after he had a rather nasty accident quite a few years ago.  Oh! Man! I would not like to go back to work now, in any job.  These past few days have been enough for me.  I had told Elaine if she is ever really stuck I would help out .........................just hope it is not too soon!!!!   After helping her all afternoon she has been here all evening just chilling out, chatting and having a laugh.  She said she just had to get out of the house.  At home all the conversations are about the Tearoom so while here we spoke for a little while about it, then that was that no more.

I made this Gift Bag the other day,  I think if I did it again I might make a few changes.

I printed the card using a NitWit Collection "Always and For Ever"
Cut out using Spellbinder Grand Circles One the largest of the Dies in the set
The smaller circle using two Dies Down in the set
Roses made from the scraps. the leaves were cut using scraps of white card with the Foliage Dies.
A few Stick Pins, Butterfly and hearts charms from my stash.
Handles made using cord
Inside the bag is done more or less using the same principle as the bag I did the Tutorial for some time ago

I have entered this into

That`s it from me today, off to bed now.
Thank you for calling in I really do appreciate it

"Pearls card for this week"

Hello everyone and welcome to my little corner of Blogland.  Great to have you here I love that you come and visit to see what I have been up to.
Another beautiful day here again even though it was bitterly cold in the morning.  By afternoon it definitely felt like spring.  Went to Perth this morning the journey was so beautiful looking towards the hills that are still "THICKLY" covered in snow.   The snowdrops are every where, the birds are singing........its a wonderful life.

My regular visitors know about my friend Pearl who has been out of her house since it flooded very badly the Friday before Christmas.  I send or give Pearl a card every week just to let her know I am thinking about her.  A few I have not posted as they were cards I had already made and posted here before.
Here is today`s card a new one I did last week.  I got the inspiration from Sasha`s Blog she has made one in a very similar style.  Making/giving a card every week that has to be different makes you really that can be hard for me sometimes!!!   Every little bit of inspiration is helpful and that`s what is so wonderful about................Blogging.

Card made using Spellbinder Timeless Rectangle Die approx 61/2 x 41/2
I cut a frame in the top layer with the next die down in the set
Paper from a NitWit collection a scrap I had lying from something else
Backed this with another full Die cut
Back of the card is yet another Full Die Cut
Rose made from scraps using Spellbinder Blossom Five
Leaves from my Die Cut Bit Box and a Stick Pin from stash
Computer generated greeting cut using smallest Die in the set

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling by I really appreciate that you take the time to visit.

"Knit and Knatter"

Hello there Blog Friends we have had another wonderful day here today.  Crystal clear blue skies, sun shining from just after 7am till late.  Very cold but who cares as long as the sun is shining.
We popped up to Blairgowrie this morning, 8 miles north of here, we were so surprised to see so much snow still in some of the gardens.  The Tennis courts have about 3" of snow covering them.  Think it might be a while before they will be able to play tennis there!!!
Thank you for all the comments on my BIG project.  Now that one is done I think I will try another maybe not this week though!!!
Hazel would like to thank you for your lovely comments and all your good wishes. She is keeping great, looks fantastic, has been back at work as a Professional Nanny since late September early October.  Amazing what sheer determination and positive thinking can do...................and by great was she determined and positive!!!

Today`s card is a House Mouse image that I got somewhere on the Internet ages ago.

Base card approx 5 x 7
Coloured the image with Promarkers, actually looks darker in real life
Mounted the image on a piece of coloured card
Then onto card I had pierced round the edge
Mounted it all onto Kraft Card
I added a strip of a knitting pattern I photo copied
Wound up some knitting yarn and added that

That`s it for today
Thank you so much for calling in today I really appreciate you coming to see what has been happening here in my wee corner of Blogland

"My BIG Project"

Hello Blog friends, a new week and a beautiful day to start it.  We have had a fantastic sunny day here, very cold but the sun was shining.   I do hope it was the same wherever you are.  Thank you for popping by today I really love having you here.
Firstly I have to thank you all for your wonderful comments on my Blog today/yesterday.
For Hazel and I,  fund raising has been part of our lives since our mum died at 41years old.  We have had quite a few things in our lives that have spurred us into action when we have slowed down.   So we just keep going, there are always people out there needing help.
Right!! my BIG project................................Elaine gave me a BIG paper mache box to see what I could do with it.  She got it and had not a clue what to do with it.   It sat on my worktop for two weeks with so many ideas going through my mind.  It is much bigger than anything I have done before, I was frightened to start and make a mess of it.   When I said this to Elaine she said "For goodness sake if you make a mess I will give just you another one, so stop panicking"  here is my finished box.

The box measures 13" x 9" x 4"
I painted it all over with a stone coloured paint as my first thought was to make it antique looking.
I did a few roses in darker colours but did not like it one change of heart again.
I stenciled over the whole box with my Spellbinder Butterfly and Rose Creations Dies
All the papers for the roses are printed from a NitWit collection (always and Forever)
Roses made using Spellbinder Blossom Five Dies
Leaves Spellbinder Foliage Dies
A few accents cut in Mirri Card using a Spellbinder Die I have had for years and of course in a packet with no name...........!!!
I added some lace round the edge of the lid.

Here is the top of the box face on.

I am going to ask Elaine for another box and have a go using totally different colours.   Possibly pastel colours and see how that turns out.

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling by, I really appreciate it.

Welcome! Welcome! you have landed in my wee corner of Blogland, so glad you did.  Thank youy for taking time to visit me I really enjoy having you here.
No card today I have been very busy, also very lazy at the same time............seems rather crazy.
I have been working on a project that is taking so much longer than I thought it would.   I also have had so many others things going on at the same time.  Anyway! I decided to trawl back to see what I had that I never posted.   I saw this I thought I would use it again, I posted this when I started my Blog.
A few days ago I mentioned I had sent Sue Wilson one of the pendants that Hazel and I make.  Sue had helped me,  I asked her something, she delivered, I was delighted.   It was near Christmas so I thought she deserved a little gift.  I noticed she always wears Pendants so what better to send her than one of ours.  She showed photos on her Blog of her at the Birmingham Trade Show and she was wearing the Pendant.  It matched her top perfectly, Hazel and I are over the moon.
Hazel was Diagnosed with Womb Cancer a year ago next month.   Hazel had a Hysterectomy, of course that was her stuck not able to do much for a few weeks.  Then it was the very radical Chemotherapy which was hard going to say the least.   She cried tears, we all did.    However Hazel being Hazel decided rather than cry the "tears" she would make some Pendants Tear Drop shaped.  I would travel over to her most days and we worked together making Pendants.  Hazel would do the Tear Drop shapes and circles, I did the Hearts.  I made boxes to put them in, we sold them to raise money for the Chemo Unit that Hazel went to.   It was used in their "Comfort Fund" for things for the patients.  Then we discovered Maggies Cancer Care a centre in the grounds of the Hospital where Hazel went.   It is for people with cancer and their families, they do wonderful work.   The next lot we sold they got the money.  We are still making and selling them with the money going to Charity.

This is a selection of some that we have made and sold.
Unfortunately you do not see any of the Tear Drop shaped ones very easily.  They are the 3 little boxes sitting above the box with the Green tissue background.
We also made and sold lots of Button necklaces, it is very difficult to get enough BIG buttons at a reasonable price now.
Although some people think they can raid their button box to make a necklace it is not that easy.  You need lots of matching buttons......................what`s in your button box??    Yep!! lots of odd buttons.  OK I have raided mine for some odd buttons for something I have been working on, but never got enough to make a whole necklace yet.

Right off to get on with this project I am working on in hope that it will be finished soon to let you see I have not been sitting with my feet up doing nothing.

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling by I really do appreciate it
