Me and My Roses

Hello Blog friends, thank you for calling by today.
I am sorry if I have not managed to get round to commenting on your Blog today.
I have to say although I enjoyed "working " today I am rather tired.  We were extremely busy from 12.30pm till 3pm, never stopped.  All tables taken, there are 9, OK 6 of them are for 2 people even so it was all go.  I only made one Boo! Boo! forgot a couples order for Tea.  I served their main course, went off to do something and forgot about their pot of Tea.  Other than that all went well, no grumpy customers so that was fine, don`t like grumpy people.........................

Today`s card I made  the other day when I had my sewing machine out.

Base card 5 x 7 approx Centura pearl
Paper from a Tilda Paper Stack
SB Labels Twenty Die
Memory Box Frame Die
Roses are a Die Cut image that is included in the Paper Stack
Some Pearls from my Stash

That`s it for today off to put my PJs on, have a cuppa then bed for me.
Thank you for popping in I really appreciate it
 Till next time

"Back in my Comfort Zone"

Hello Blog friends, welcome to my little corner of Blogland.  I hope you are all well, if any of you are feeling a bit low I send you a BIG ((((Hug))))

Oh! My! can you believe it!  I have another new follower Dunja a hundred thousand welcomes to you.  If I could remember, I could have said that in Gaelic.
One of the goals I set myself at the beginning of this year was...."to step out of my comfort zone more often"  try some new things.  Being a Virgo I am rather set in my ways.   I like the things I like and done my way, I feel I have not achieved very much.  I have tried to give myself a good shake but even that has not worked.
However Tomorrow/Saturday/Sunday/Monday will find me doing something I have not done for quite a few years..............................I am going out to "work".
I am going to be working all day on those days with Elaine in the Tearoom.  Her daughter is off on a break that had been booked and payed for long before they thought of the Tearoom.  When Elaine`s daughter and her partner said they were going to cancel I said not to.   I would go in and help her mum, Oh! man! why did I do that.  I have helped for the odd hour/two hours at a time but all day for 4 days I must be mad.

Today`s card  is very much in my comfort zone......................Roses.

Base card 5 x 7 Centura Pearl from Crafters Companion
White card embossed using a SB Embossing folder
SB Floral Oval cut in Black card.  I actually cut two and stuck them together to give it a little more depth.
Leaves cut using SB Foliage Die and a Crealies Die
Roses made using SB Blossom Five Die
Organza ribbon from my Ribbon Box

Hazel and I would like to mention, that from the sale of the Pendants, a Raffle and from donations, we have donated to The Day Chemo Unit at Ninewells Hospital Dundee, The Day Chemo Unit at Perth and The Maggies Centre.  Hazel`s daughter is running a Disco on Saturday to raise funds for the Maggies Back Up Team doing the Bike & Hike this year.
Thank you to all who helped us achieve this.

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling in I really appreciate it
Till next time

"Thank You" from Hazel

Hello, thank you for stopping by my little corner of Blogland.
Unlike a lot of people down south we up here in the North East of Scotland are still getting cold weather.  Yes!! the sun has been shining, it is dry but by great it is by no means warm.

Met Hazel this morning, she asked me to make a card to thank all you wonderful people for all your kind wishes.   Having been given the "All Clear" on her visit to the hospital on Monday, she does not have to go back to see her Consultant till October.   Hazel did say she had intended to log on to your Blogs to say Thank You.  Just in case she missed someone she thought me posting a card for her would solve that problem.................so here it is.
Also an effort to get me out of my "Comfort Zone" just a little though, still had to use my Roses.    I have made this ever so slightly "Shabby Chic"

Base card approx 5 x 7 Centura Pearl
Pink card stock slightly distressed using a distressing tool
Tiny Roses paper from a Tilda Paper Stack .....Country Escape.   I attached it to the pink card stock by stitching it.
Piece of stripped paper from the same pad also stitched using a different stitch style
Card stock embossed using a SB Folder which had been inked on the inside of the folder.  This was matted onto a piece of the pink card and aslo stitched using yet another style of stitch
A piece of lace from my Lace Box
Roses made using SB Blossom Five Die in each of the papers used
Leaves Crealis Die and Die cut bits from my box.
Tag cut using SB Tags Die set

I have entered this into the Sketch n Stash Challenge
I had never used a "sketch" till the other day, think I have got the hang of it, so that`s another.

Last year I bought a very small, cheap sewing machine from the Hobbycraft Shop.  I was to use this for doing some sewing on cards rather than get out my BIG sewing machine.........  I think it has been used twice.  The description of the stitches on the little dial bares no resemblance to what it actually sews.  Apart from the straight stitch all the rest were just what appeared when I turned the dial, so a bit of trial and error.

Thank you for calling by today, your visits and comments are always appreciated
Till next time

"A Change of Mind"

Hello Bloggers, hope you have had a good day.
Thank you so much for calling by, I love to have you here.  Remember if you call leave a wee comment, that way I can link back to see what you get up to.
A "Big" welcome to my newest follower Lia.   I am so pleased you have decided to join little `ole` me!!!   I have had a few new followers lately and WOW!! I have found even more great talent.   Some of these followers have active Blogs.  I have had a look and am amazed at the wonderful creations I have seen.

Weather here a lot calmer today thank goodness yesterday was terrible with all the "Sand Storms".

I have a few cards to make today then hopefully I can just have a wee play to myself once they are done.  Do not know about you guys out there, if I have my Die Cutting machines out and time to spare I just love to Die Cut any bits I have left lying about.  I rummage though my Dies and the bits that are left from what I have made.  Some bits I cut I don`t like so they go into the paper recycling bin.  Others I keep in a box for future use, if they are not used within a couple of months they go to in the bag for the school.

Today`s card is actually a bit of both, this is not what I planned when I started.
I had placed the floral paper on the base card went to my "Cut Outs" box for some leaves and got sidetracked.  I found some pre-cut bits in the box that matched my base paper.  Pulled them out played about with them, this is what I came up with, so a change of mind on this one.

Base card approx 5 x 7 Centura Pearl
Piece of paper/card from a Tilda Paper Stack I love these Stacks.  The paper designs are so pretty
SB Labels one was used to cut Green Gingham
Floral paper cut using SB Labels Twenty with a SB Classic rectangle cut from the centre
Leaves Cuts using SB Foliage Dies
Flowers SB Bitty Blossoms Dies

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling by your visits and comments are always appreciated
Till next time

" Four Little Boxes"

Hello Blog friends, well I don`t know about where you are but we`re about blown away here.
It has been so windy today I could hardly see as got into the open countryside heading home from Dundee.   The top soil off the fields was blowing like snow and you could hardly see through it.

Thank you for visiting me today and for all the lovely comments you have been leaving.

I went into Dundee to be with Hazel for her first appointment since all her Hysterectomy, Chemo and Radio Therapy..........................she`s great and does not have to go back for another 6 months "Wooopppeee".    We did a little happy dance, how great is that.  Tell you what this time last year we were crying not dancing, so a very Happy Day here.

My Post today is little boxes I have done to pop in my cabinet at the Tearoom.  All the others that I had in have sold, they were Black and Pink.  I just hope these go as quickly.

Boxes made using SB Bracket Box Die,  you do need a large Die Cutting Machine to do these.  I have my trusty Grand Calibur.
I used some Foiled Kanban Card I have had for ages, got it when I was down in Yorkshire.  That was in the days when you could go into the factory and buy a BIG box of card and paper for £20.00.  Unfortunately Kanban are now closed.
Pink Card Stock
Embellishments are a selection of things I had made and in my box, plus an odd button.
Each box has a little piece of tissue pink inside, I feel it just finishes off the box.

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling by I really appreciate that you take the time to come and see me.

"Just a lttle Card"

Hello Blog friends, oh! wow! another week about to start.  Where did last week go???
I must welcome my two new followers, Kelly and Viv.  Thank you so much for choosing to join me here in me wee corner of Blogland.    I feel so pleased, there are so many talented crafters out there and you have chosen to call on me.
Well folks may I tell you about my Saturday:-  Hazel my friend Elaine and I went to Inverness to meet Kate (Cullisocks) what a treat, she is a lovely, wonderful, sweet person.   We recognised her, she recognised us instantly, no looking or wondering.  It was dry if rather bracing in Inverness, however we made our way to the Palace Hotel overlooking the river.  We got a nice corner, wonderful views with comfy seats where we sat and chatted, had a beautiful lunch, chatted more, and even more.   Then believe it or not it was time to walk back to the bus station for the bus back to Perth.  We had a beautiful run up and back and will be doing it again soon no doubt.    Kate has also said she will pop down to Perth after her holiday in June where we can have another good old chat.
We are all going to NEC in Birmingham in November, this was the first of a few meeting before we go.  Really looking forward to going knowing that we get on so well.

My card today is a little card I showed a few weeks ago in a group of cards I had done.
This is a closer look, it is a very, very simple little card

Base card is approx 4 x 4
SB Hearts Die,  SB Classic Square Die to cut an embossed piece of card.  I had inked the inside of the folder with Picked Raspberry TH Distress Ink using my Brayer
Memory Box Die to cut out the Swirls which I also cut in Pink to give me the contrasting flowers.  The little pink and white flowers are waste pieces from Dies and Punches.
I keep these little punched out bits in clear bottles that you get for decanting Shampoo and such like for taking on short holiday or weekend break......................got them at the £1 shop.

That`s it for today
Thank you so much for calling by I really appreciate it
