"Very Simple Birthday Card"

Hello Blog friends, sorry I have been MIA again.....!!!
See this life thingy, it keeps getting in the way.  It is a real pain in the posterior.  Thank you for bearing with me I really do appreciate that.
Did the Card Class on Tuesday morning and as I told you someone would not be happy.  Two of them actually, they did not have any babies coming that they would need cards for......................come on!!!!   I was so annoyed, I really had to bite my tongue, that was rather sore.   They said they would use the pink card and paper to make a birthday card, so I just left them to it.   I handed them all a sheet with what we intend doing in the next 6 classes.  I told them that if they were not interested in doing what was there, to let us know if they were coming or not.   Making up the Kits is a lot of work and if they are not coming to do what is in the Kit, there was no point in me making it up.   Sounds very hard but to be honest I have had enough of their faffing about.   Right that`s that off my chest.
Looking out the window the sky is blue, the sun is shining.   This morning you could not see your hand in front of your face the fog was so thick.  Another fatal crash just along the road from Hazel (hazelsbasketsofjoy) who is across the river Tay in Fife.  There was one yesterday morning in the same area approx the same time.  Why oh! why! do drivers not take more care in dangerous conditions.
My card today is so, so simple, I just had to make it up though.  There were quite a few Christmas Cards made using the Memory Box Merry Christmas Die, well this is made using their brand new Happy Birthday one on the same lines.  How simple is this:-

Base card approx 6 x 6
Papers free with the fist edition of the Tattered Lace Magazine
Memory Box Die from Oyster Stamps (new for 2014)
Ribbon and Pearls from my stash
Off to get myself organised for the boys coming after school for their tea.
They like coming on a Thursday .... the Fishman comes, they love fish

That`s it for today
Thank you so much for taking time to pop in.   I appreciate all your visits and comments
Till next time
Hugs

  1. Ah well, you said it would happen didn't you? There's always one - or in this case - two! This card is lovely. The die is fabulous. Doesn't actually need a great deal more does it? Enjoy the rest of your day. Hugs Christine xx

  5. Hi Patricia,

You go Gal lol!, You cannot please everyone all of the time, I can imagine all the time it takes to set up the kits.

Shame about the car crashes but you are right, we have it down here too, doesn't matter whether its raining, snow or fog they just don't slow down.

Love your card, I have bought the magazine too with the free die but have not got round to using it yet lol! I do hope they only bring the Mag out once a month as its quite expensive. Love the die you are using though, fabulous.

    Love & Hugs

  7. Fabulous card Patricia. It's so hard to please everyone, but I think if they are told what they are going to make , then they know what they are making. When I taught tailoring/ dressmaking I had the same problem. Hugs Rita xxxx

  20. Hello Patricia, what a pity the two ladies can't just enjoy the crafting experience, it would be better if they called it a day really, wouldn't it.
What a great idea though to plan ahead with a list of what you're going to be doing over the weeks, cos then they can't say they weren't told. Well done for holding your tongue.

Your card is so very pretty, that's a wonderful die and I just love the beautiful paper. Take care, hugs Kate X

  21. Hi Patricia, you did well holding your tongue, you would think they realised how much preparation you have to do and the hours it takes to do them.
well wish I had this die, looks fantastic, didn't get the mag, really pretty papers.

  22. Hi Patricia,

Your card is simple but stunning. Love it. Thank you. Some people are givers and some people are takers. You are better off without people like them or let them have a turn at taking the class!!!

    Much love,

  23. Hi Patricia, this is gorgeous, it really pops out..love it! As for your class, oh dear there are always one or two, what can I say! Last night there were a few who were really not wanting to have a go at zentangle at ours, but once they started they all got really engrossed..in the zone!!! It was so quiet & they all made fab tangles & cards in the end Carole Z xx

  24. Gorgeous card and luvin the die xx you would think your class would just grateful to learn new ideas and techniques - I don't send my cards out that I make in class - I keep them as a referral when my mojo has upped and left - which it does on a regular basis - no pleasing some people xx they would be the first to complain though if you stopped the class - you can bet your bottom dollar!! xx anyway have a fab weekend xx GailT xx

Love your bright and cheerful card, great Happy Birthday die.
What a shame after all of your hard work getting the kits ready why didn't those 2 ladies just go with the flow.I don't think I would have been so polite, probably would have upset them.

  28. Hi Patricia, I'm with you on the card kit front. I've got quite a few here of odds and ends and from people that don't turn up. They do take a long time to make up especially if using lots of die cutes....which I tend to do. With you all the way.....frustrating.com
Lovely birthday card mind....love how you've made the happy birthday lettering.
    Happy crafting, hugs Erika.

  34. Love this MB die & I think I have it on order! It really went beautifully with this lovely rose paper. I'm always on the hunt for small rose motifs in DP. Too bad your students gave you such aggravation. I would not be a good teacher for just that reason. Why sign up for the class if you don't want to make 'that' card? Learn the technique and adapt it to some other project if you take the class. Oh well, as you say that's life. Glad that you're having some nice sunshine. Have a great weekend and enjoy. TFS & Hugs

  35. Gorgeous card Patricia, really pretty.

Not surprised you were a bit narked (or maybe a lot narked) at your ladies. When I went to a card class we were all happy with whatever kind of card we made. None of us ever used the cards but kept them for inspiration. After all usually the layout was useful for more than one kind of card. Above all we always enjoyed the challenge of a new technique. One of my friends does classes and I know what a lot of work goes into making up the kits.

    Have a lovely weekend.

    Kat xx

  36. Hi Patricia,
I do love this card and that die. I had a Christmas one with the Christmas die from a treasured blog friend. May have to invest in this die soon. Love your rose paper too.
Some peeps never appreciate the hard work involved in getting a craft class together, and all the preparation it takes to make up the kits. I would never dream of saying anything so silly, as you may always need a baby card. I bet next week they will need one and think to themselves dam, I wish I had made that one.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
