"It`s Roses Again"

Hello folks, welcome to my wee corner here in Blogland.  Great to have you visit, I hope you like what you see and call again.
Hope you are all enjoying the wonderful weather.  Even here in the North East of Scotland we are getting it hot, hot, hot.  I just love it, although I do not sit in the sun I really enjoy the brightness and warmth it brings.
Audrey and the boys arrived yesterday afternoon, boys stayed with Grandpa.   Audrey and  I went off for a long walk and a great chat with the dogs running free through the fields.
Managed to get myself motivated and made a card.  I had used Sue Wilson`s new Bevelled Glass Striplet, I cut it out three times on the one sheet of card.  Unfortunately I did not line them all up properly, I discarded the piece which John retrieved along with the Gilding Flake bit (yesterday`s card)   I am terrible, if it is not right first time I just dump it.  In future I am going to start taking a real good look at bits before dumping them.
Here is my card using the retrieved  Die cut:-

Base card white A4 card folded in half
Pink card
Freebe paper behind the Die Cut
Rescued Die cut reduced in size
2 different widths of Ribbon to cover the join in the black card
SB Blossom Five for the Roses using more of the Freebe paper
Leaves from SW Classic Rose Die set
No greeting on the card, I have put in my card box

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling by I really appreciate it
Till next time
Hugs

Patricia   xx

  1. Good Morning Patricia. Stunning card, you made me smile at how you disposed of it and then retrieved it again. I too have done that in the past. Enjoy your Day. Hugs Rita xxx

  2. Lovely card-you would never know its from a piece you were going to throw away. I've bought this die but just not had time to use it so its nice to see what other crafters are making with it.

  4. Morning Patricia, This is lovely and it showcases your roses beautifully. It just shows you should never throw anything away, my craft room is testament to this hahahaha !! I have 'numerous' bit boxes, but I will be looking at them in a different light after seeing your 'beauties' after retrieval.
    Enjoy your day.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Lovely card, like you I tend to throw things when I don't think they are right, must look at them again before doing so.

  8. Another cracker and I'm glad to hear you're going to stop dumping things. If in doubt die cut into something you've already created to get something entirely new - you'd be amazed! Jenny x

  10. Now you have gone and done it! You have totally hooked me on the Sue Wilson dies! I just had to have Striplet- Lattice Heart die that you used on a Christmas card. Found a place that sells them here in the states and I'm off! I do love this die and see more in my future! Love your card! Just gorgeous!

  20. Hi Patricia
I was going to say, I couldn't see where it didn't line up but then you said you had snipped it. There's potential in every scrap. Without it, you wouldn't have this fab card for your box.
    Best wishes.

  25. Hi Patricia

I love your roses and could look at them every day! They are always so beautiful.

    Love this finished card.

As for the heart you can't find. That is a little worrying because there are lots of them LOL!!!

Hope you are having a good week.

    Love Jules xx

  26. Patricia, you'd cringe at my house, because I save bits...never know when you can use on something else! Your cards are always just perfect, and this beautiful SW bevel is too. It's a very graphic shape with the cutouts, and pretty with the brown/pink color combo. Of course the wonderful roses are super with the die & made a gorgeous card. Your walk sounds so lovely. Glad you're having some good hot weather. TFS & Hugs (tee hee..just read Jules' comment about not finding the heart. I always search her work first for the heart. Sometimes I can't find it...but it's there! )
