"Two Years of Blogging"

Hello friends, fellow bloggers and anyone who just happens bye.  You are all most welcome I love having visitors.
I just noticed I have been Blogging for 2 years.  Seems a lot longer in some ways but in others it seems like yesterday.  I have learnt so much seeing what everyone I follow is doing and from trawling associated Blogs. I have also made so many wonderful Virtual friends and friends I have enjoyed meeting up with.  Hazel and I are meeting with Kate (culliesocks) in a couple of weeks.  We have all met a few times and had a great time, really looking forward to this meet up.
All very quite here at the Ranch.   The boys are away camping at Aviemore (near Inverness) with their mum & dad.  From all reports they are having good weather and great fun.  They have one of these bike carriers  for the car, all the bikes are with them.  My DIL Audrey who I love to bits is a bit of a "snob" the fact she is enjoying this camping malarkey really amazes me.  However she does get her showers, hair washed, dried and hot brushed etc:- so she is a happy bunny.  Really cant see her doing the real rough style camping that Hazel and did when we were the boys ages.  Hazel and spent most of 6 weeks school holidays on some Wild and wonderful beach or hillside roaming free.  Other than food shopping and the occasional visit to some town we never saw anyone.  Talking about it now we always say we were never lonely, we had very little in the way of toys for entertainment.  Maybe we were lonely but never realised it.
Anyway here is a card that was amongst some of my first posts:-

I had been making cards for a while before I started Blogging.  I do feel they have improved a lot since then from the hints and tips I have picked up along the way.
This is a Triple Stepper Card using plain white card and SB Dies
Crealies Die for the foliage

That`s it for today will be back with something new soon
Thank you for calling in I really appreciate it
Till next time
Hugs

We used to love to go camping when my children were a lot younger. I don't think we could manage it now my Son is 6ft4 tall and my daughters like their home comforts!

  3. Way back in the 70's we did really basic camping with outr 3 children, all in a van. we used to take single matresses in the back and a couple of small tents, tinned food and a couple of home made cakes and we had such good times. The kids used to sit in the back of the van loving it. Of course now it wouldn't be allowed but they all remember their childhood as fun even though then we didn't have much.
    Love the card

  12. Morning Patricia, Congratulations on 2 years Blogging !! that's a brilliant Anniversary.
We only went camping once, once was enough, we had an old Army tent and no luxuries, the children loved every minute though, I felt like a tramp all week hahaha !! If I was to camp nowadays it would have to be 'Glamping' hahaha, with all the amenities of home, I like my comfort these days haha.
I'm loving your card from 2 years ago, when I think about my first attempts at cardmaking, I cringe, thankfully over the years, with tips and techniques learned, my cardmaking has improved dramatically haha.
Enjoy your day, we have some sunshine at the moment, yeah !!
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  17. Hi Patricia,

    Lovely card.

Camping has never been my thing I have to say, I love the comfort of a bed too much along with the security of a locked door lol! I know it sounds insane and I make my husband mad as I wont go to bed without shutting all windows and locking all lockable doors! We live in a bungalow, if we were in a house the windows upstairs would stay open all day & night this weather.

    Love & Hugs

  24. Had to laugh at your DIL's being a 'snob'. I'm right there with her! My idea of camping is being in a very nice hotel with places to eat meals nearby and preferably a craft shop or 2 to visit! I expect you & Hazel had each other to enjoy fun with, so didn't get lonely a bit. Your early card is truly beautiful, Patricia. The white on white is so pretty and all the fancy trimmings. I spotted your signature flower so you were a fab flower designer even early on. I'm so glad you decided to blog and share your beautiful cards for us in Blogland to enjoy. I'll try to share a picture of the porch swing soon, so you can 'enjoy a cup of tea' with me! TFS & Hugs

  26. Hi Patricia, love your WOW card. Happy blogging birthday!
We used to camp loads as kids, happy times with not a lot. Keep threatening wild camping on my boys....though I think mum wouldn't enjoy it as much as I used to. I like a few comforts nowadays!
    Hugs Erika. x
