Just for You

Hello Blog friends, followers and passers by.  Welcome and thank you for stopping to look at what I have been up to.  I have a New Follower, I think she is Portuguese, I have had a look on her Blog, she does some beautiful things.  Thank you for becoming a follower I really appreciate that.
Sorry I have been missing for so long.
I am fortunate to be a very healthy person BUT!! I do suffer rather badly from S.A.D.  I have a lamp, I take extra Vitamin D, I try to get out for a walk if the day is good, I still do not cope very well.  However on the positive side  ...   this is the shortest day.  Onwards and upwards as they say.
I have not done any real crafting for 2 maybe 3 weeks.  I have given myself a good shake and hopefully will get some things done soon.
I have a card to show you.   I "had" to make this for my friend who lives outside Belfast in Northern Ireland.  She fell putting out the rubbish.  She has broken her left wrist and fractured her right elbow.  My friends are falling like "nine pins".  Oriel is too far away for me to be of any help.  However she has a fantastic family who are all rallying round.  My Other friend Elaine is still not too good.  She is getting there but not as fast as she would like, of course this is getting her down.  Elaine made it along to the Card Class Tuesday past, all the ladies were so happy to see her.  They did the card she had prepared for them (Jennifer Elaine`s daughter) had actually put it together.   I had done extra for them so all in all a good class, a great laugh which I know helped Elaine a lot.
I hope you are all getting on well with the Christmas preparations.  All good here so far.
Here is my card for today:-

Simple card using a Technique Sue Wilson showed recently
Base card approx 5x7
Purple card embossed
SW Ivy Die plus the outside Die from one of one her Striplet Sets
Just for You, Phil Martin Stamp from Creative Expressions
Pearls from stash  ...  all very easy peasy

That`s it for today
Thank you for your visit I really appreciate that.
Till next time
Hugs

Patricia   xxx

  1. Oh wow, Patricia. This is stunning. I knew it would be something special when you were telling me about it, but it just goes to show what can be done with the cut out from a striplet and the ivy die. I know for sure Oriel will have loved receiving this. Really like that stamp, might just have to have a look. Hazel xxx

  2. This is s stunner Patricia, I particularly like the colour you chose, it really makes the white "jump"!! Sorry to hear that you suffer at this time of year but as you so rightly point out it's the shortest day so we should be gaining 10 minutes a week from now on. I hate it if I can't be out riding before 7.30!! xx

Love your take on Sue's card, especially the addition of the purple. Lovely clean and elegant lines.
What are you doing to your pals? You'll need to have insurance to be your friend at this rate lol!
Sorry to hear Elaine is still struggling. I hope her family are being patient with her recovery.
    Best wishes.

My daughter suffers with S A D too and I will say to her, 'if today is bad, tomorrow will be brighter and Spring is just around the corner, hang on in there sweetheart.' So hang on in there Patricia focus on your super grandsons, and their smiles, to brighten your day.

  18. Beautiful card Patricia, love that die! I do empathise with you as I don't do dark days and long nights very well at all either and it has really put me off being in the craft room, which is probably why I have been doing so much sewing in the comfort of the lounge...but as you say the shortest day is over and the only way is up from now on:) Hugs Carole Z X

  20. I too do better if I walk in the sunlight each day. I even walk when it is cloudy. Just being in any kind of outdoor light works for me. Living alone I feel shut in and need the fresh air and light therapy to keep my spirits up and keep me motivated. Love your card....the die is wonderful and the color just pops! Merry Christmas to you and yours!

  21. Beautiful card Patricia. Hope you feel better soon. I am lucky that I enjoy the winter days the big fires and candles burning. The long summer days are more difficult for me whereby they look fantastic and I want to be out and about but cannot go as my husband is not fit after 3 strokes and holidays are probably a thing of the past.
