"Faux Leather Book and Bits"

Hello Blog friends, followers and anyone who just happens by, welcome to my wee corner of Blogland.
Thank you for all your wonderful comments.  I have to say thank you to all of you who look in leave a message and don`t have a Blog so I could comment on your work.  I really appreciate that you take time to leave messages.  I think I have caught up with every one, if I have missed you I am sorry it is not intentional, I will get to you.
Tell you what the weather here is better than we got in Turkey, not so much rain and far warmer believe it or not.
I have managed to get all the washing from the holiday done, dried, ironed and put away.  Some back in the cupboards other in the case for the 29th of May when Hazel, Elaine and I take off for Turkey.  A different place from where I was last week.  Hopefully the weather will have settled and we can enjoy the beautiful clear blue skies and warm sunshine that we have always had in the past.
I have been having a play with Sheena Douglas`s Faux Leather Technique.  It is absolutely amazing that you can turn a piece of Kraft Card into something that actually does look like leather.  Now we need someone to invent "Leather Smell"..................!!!!
I had a little spiral notebook that I covered with a piece I did.  I have no patience and had to "make" something.  With my other pieces I will try Sheena`s idea for little notebooks and bigger ones as well I  think.

Kraft Card
Embossing Folders
Distress Inks
Couple of Charms
I made a flower with some bits just to see the effect
If you have not had a go yet, give it a try it is fun.  The only expense if you already have some Kraft Card is the Glycerine, £1.50 from the Chemist

Feeding time for the sheep..............they come running over when the boys are in the garden.  Those sheep are always looking for something to eat.

That`s it for today
Thank you for your visit, I really appreciate it
Till next time
Hugs

"Welcome Emily Rose"

Hello Blog friends ........... did you miss me???
I actually did miss looking in to see what you were all doing.  I tell you its true, a few of you might remember me telling you that John had booked a week in Turkey for us.  Well that`s where I have been, now if the sun had been shining I might not have missed you quite so much.  However we had rain, rain and even more rain.  Out of our 8 days we had 1 whole day of sunshine and 2 half days.  I certainly hope is clears us before Hazel and  go out in a couple of weeks.  The other thing, we knew there was very limited Wifi in the hotel so I did not take my iPad.  Hazel and I really missed chatting to one another each day.
John and I still managed to have a good time.   We met up with old friends, met some new ones and made the best of our time there.
We spent our summers out in Turkey for 7 years stopping that just a few years ago.  We would leave the UK beginning of May, return at the end of October.  In that time yes, we did get a couple of days of rain but that was it.  The evenings at the beginning and end of our stay did get a little cooler but tell you what it was really cold last week.  We both had to buy a cardigan, and use the AirCon as a heater.
Anyway enough on that subject.
Here is the card I made for my friend Elaine`s new Granddaughter.  This is the card I sent to the parents.

Base card approx 5 x 7 Papermill Direct Card
Pink card embossed with SB Paisley embossing board
Image from Joanna Sheen`s Baby Love CD
Seam Binding Bow
Roses Pink felt I cut out a circle for each of the Roses, cut round and round then wound them.  A  few pearls from stash
Computer generated sentiment matted and cut in a fish tail

That`s it for today
Thank you so much for your visit,I really appreciate it.
I will get round to popping into to see all very soon, probably tomorrow.
We are off along to see the boys this evening
Till next time
