"Oldie for Friday"

Hello Blog friend and followers, great to have you here.  Wow! what about the weather???  We have had two fantastic days, very warm as well.  I get so much done when the sun shines.
Well folks Hazel and I are off this evening up to Aberdeen.  Staying overnight Friday and Saturday, up smart on Saturday for a Workshop with Sue Wilson & Julia Watts.  We were like a couple of kids counting down the days now it is the hours.  I was born in Aberdeen, Hazel was born in Dundee although we did spend a lot of time at school and working in Aberdeen.   We will pop into the centre to have a look at what is on offer, probably do that Saturday afternoon.  Sunday Sue & Julia are doing demos most of the day from what I can gather.
Once Hazel was old enough she was off to Germany to be a Nanny .....  all these years later and she is still doing the same job, obviously with different children!!!   Don`t know how she has the patience but she loves it.
Right here is my Oldie for Friday:-

Just a few rolls of lace that I had managed to accumulate
That must have been a "tidy up time" I did that lot ages ago.

Must take a picture of the collection to date ..... no! maybe not it is rather scary to say the least
Just a few more of those baskets ..... full.

That`s it for today folks
Will let you know how we get on, must remember my camera.  Hazel will take pictures with her Phone I am sure.  I cant get my phone pictures to transfer to the computer.......just another little problem for stupid old me!!
Thank you for your visit I really appreciate it
Till next time

"Heart of Roses"

Hello Blog friends, followers and all who pass through. You are all very welcome, thank you for your lovely comments on my Bronze Lady, she is my favourite piece in the house.
What a fantastic day we had yesterday, sunny and actually very warm.  Lots done here at the Ranch while the sun shone.  House all done then windows cleaned, all 18 of them ........!!!  Till the end of last year I had a window cleaner come to do them.    However he came just after the New Year, knocked on the door to tell me he had to raise his prices and I would now be £18.00 to have my windows cleaned.  I told him not to bother coming back, that was far too much.  Went online and bought the best piece of "kit" for the house I have ever had ... a Karcher Window Vac.  Absolutely brilliant, even John can manage to get the windows clean.   I get so much done when the sun is shining, love it.
Evening and once again Football on the telly, I sat in the kitchen, no telly on, I made some Roses.
Here is what I did with them:-

Heart £1.00 from Primark.
Roses Susan`s Garden Create a Rose Die
Pink 160gsm paper/card.  I find this the best weight for making flowers
Leaves made from Green Card Stock
Organza Ribbon

That`s it for today folks thank you for all your visits and comments I really appreciate them
Till next time

"Full Picture"

Hello Blog friends, a quick post from me today.
Busy, busy here at the Ranch.  Yesterday I started on a "tidy up" of craft stuff.    Man! Oh! Man! where did all that stuff come from.   I never bought it, I am certain I never bought it!!!!!
I went looking for "thick" card to cut some Gift Bags with the Die Hazel lent me.  You know how it is........!!!!  I ended up with boxes and boxes of card and paper plus other stuff scattered all over the place.
All tidy now with a really big bag for the school.  Had to put it out into the store so that I did not feel guilty every time I looked at it.
Thank you for the lovely comments on my "bronze effect lady" ......  here she in her entirety

Just to let you know I am not so clever as to have created her from a "lump" of Clay
The ceramic pieces I made were done in Moulds.  Pour liquid clay in, let it set, remove from the mould.  The piece is cleaned of all ragged edges then fired in a Kiln for a few hours.  You can then decorate as you wish.  I have quite a few that are just glazed white.  I like the very few ornaments I have round the house to be plain and simple.
That`s it for today
Thank you for calling by I really appreciate it
Till next time

"Card for Dad"

Hello Blog friends, regular followers and anyone who has popped in to see what I get up to.  Thank you for taking time to do that, I  love having you here.  A few people who call in do not have an active Blog so I cant get back to them.  However I really appreciate that you visited.
With the upset of my Computer it put me right off my Crafty Stride.
I got all the house jobs up to date yesterday, even the washing was dried, ironed and put away by mid afternoon.   Apart from the "daily" chores I should have time to play today.
The boys had a sleepover Saturday night when they made a card for their Dad`s birthday which is tomorrow.  They were to make a Gift Bag to hold the Chocolate Bars they bought for him, they ran out of time.  No doubt they will be back sometime today to do that.
Here is their card all done by themselves, Robert did all the putting together.  I printed out the letters which Thomas cut out.  I find watching Thomas rather funny he is left handed, looks so awkward but manages to get there in the end.

Base card approx 6 x 8
Brown card from the "bit box"
Papers from a Magazine
Letters printed from a Crafters Companion CD
Computer generated greeting done by Thomas
Red Peel off

That`s it folks
Thank you for your visit I really appreciate it
Till next time

Why do I do this???

Hello Blog friends, followers and anyone who has just popped by.  Great to have you here, if you have time please leave a comment I love read them all.  The people who have an active Blog I always try get back to, to see what you do.
I have had terrible computer problems since Thursday.  Oh! My! Word! how I have missed you all.  It seems such a silly thing to say BUT I never, ever, thought I would depend so much on a little piece of technology.  My iPad stopped talking to my PC .... disaster.  I have come so dependant on this little bit of kit, sitting in the lounge, feet up keeping in touch with you all.  However all sorted, I had a lovely young chap come to the house this afternoon, all fixed within 10 mins.  He charges by the hour, he spent the rest of the time checking over and clearing up all the "junk" that seems to have accumulated on my PC ........ me pressing buttons no doubt!!!

I know I am not the only one that does this kind of thing!!!   You buy or are given a gift of something you really like but never wanted to spend the money on.  Last year I mentioned that I would like to try colouring with pencils.   I had lots of pens ..... Promarkers, Copics, and Specrtum Noirs never seemed to get anywhere with them, maybe I should try Pencils.  I did say it was expensive for really good one so I would wait till a Birthday or Christmas.  John and Audrey brought these home for me as a gift when they were in the States last year:-

As you can see 150 beautiful colours
They are still all in the box ....  unused!!!
There is yet another layer of different shades of grey through to browns and black under the blues and greens, I could not get a good picture of them all.
I feel a little guilty but I just can`t bring myself to start using them.  I don`t want to spoil them .... silly I know

That`s it for today, hopefully I will get round you all later
Thank you for your visit I really appreciate you calling in
Till next time
