"Oldie for Friday"

Hello Blog friends, followers and any passers by.  Welcome, I love that you take time to pop in.  Thank you for all your lovely comments, it makes it all worth while.  I have a new follower, unfortunately I can`t find who it is.   Would like to put your hand up, shout out and tell me who you are!!! I would just love to know your name.  I also had a lovely comment from a new visitor called BrigetCG thank you very much.
It was extremely windy here yesterday, we even had to move the cars.  We have lots of trees which were blowing badly in the wind.  If a tree had come down on the garage my poor "Rosie" would have been trapped.  We have lots of room in front of the house so the cars were moved there.  Luckily all the trees are still there, well they were before it got dark and we could see them!!!
Nothing exciting yesterday, no overturned cars, unexpected visitors ..... all good to go and "play"
I will show you the results another day.   Today is Friday when we show "oldies" started by Erika over at  http://snappycrafts.blogspot.co.uk   this is where we show work that we have done in the past. It does not have to be cards, it can be anything you have made and would like us to see.  Go ahead its just a bit of fun.
Here is mine:-

My card was inspired by these:-

I had been out with these shoes on and thought they could be inspiration for a card so there you go ... you can gain inspiration anywhere or from anything.
A very simple card
Base card approx 6x6 I would think
Navy card
White card
Cheery Lynn Chrysanthamum Die Strip
SB Butterfly Die
Pearls and ribbon from my stash

I love those shoes, really like wearing them.  They are old but still good and very comfortable.
Wish it was the weather to wear then again!!!

That`s it from me for today
Thank you so much for calling by I really appreciate it
Till next time
Hugs

Patricia xxxx

Almost forgot!!!  a few of you mentioned the "frames" I had made for the card in my last post.
They were cut using a set of Square Deckle edged Tonic Dies.  The set has LOTS of dies from tiny to approx 6x6.  I selected two leaving the out the one that would come between.....cut them out and you have your pretty frame

  6. Good Morning Patricia,
Thankfully a calmer one today, which surprised me as it is 'Bin Day' here today and you can guarantee that people will put their 'unsecured' recycling out to blow across the street, it ends up looking like one of those huge art things you see them doing on kids programmes!
I love your 'oldie Friday' card we don't see Navy & white cards often enough! I love that the Inspiration came from your shoes, you are so right, we can get inspiration from anywhere, although I have to be honest I have never thought of looking down at my feet, I will remember to do that, my shoes however are more designed for comfort than style !
I hope you have a lovely weekend Patricia,
    Hugs

  15. I love this plain simple but oh so eye catching card today Patricia. I know those Tonic dies you've just mentioned, I was hoping that our Sue would release a larger die like the one SB has retired but nope, and to be honest both Tina and myself have probs eith the largest square from the New York range so whilst at Leeds I bobbed into Samuel Taylor's a wonderful craft shop in and around Yorkshire, its like being in a lovely big craft dream but Ive never had long enough to have an all day browse, which it needs to take it all in ! But that Tonic die is brilliant 14 dies for under 20.00 now that's what I call value for money. Can I please ask... Would it be better to emboss a piece of card before cutting the Tonic border ? Ive never had dies that I can make a good wide border, but if.I embossed AFTER cutting the border woukd the embossing folder make the border card buckle ? Any advice would be so helpful.
Shoes... How fab that a design on a pair of shoes has given you the idea for this card - bet our 'hero' has never had anything like that as inspiration LOL. The only thing Ive ever looked at and thought 'that would make the prettiest of embossing folder' and that's Andrex loo paper LOL !
Anyway, halfway through starting a sympathy card for my market basket top up so will love and leave you and bob over to see what Hazel has to wow me with.
Have a really good weekend. Stay safe and warm.

  19. Hi Patricia, I, too, remember this card and the inspiration with the shoes, they are both gorgeous.
I had just locked my front door after lunch, to go linedancing, and before I could get into my car we had a hailstorm, then sleet, then rain, yucky yucky, and I've just been out to put something in the recycle bin and it has frozen shut - hurry up sunshine !!!!!!
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  23. Hi Patricia
Super card. You can really see the texture on it. Knew it couldn't be recent inspiration with the shoes as I know the Uggs don't get surgically removed until the Spring lol!
    Keep them tootsies warm!
    Best wishes.
