"Slighty Shabby Thank You"

Hello Blog friends, followers and anyone who pressed a button which brought them here.  You are all very welcome, I do hope you call again sometime.
I am not Blogging much just now, lots going on and more to come in the following weeks.   Next thing, the boys will be off school at the end of June for 71/2 weeks this year.  We don`t look after them but they will be here a fair bit ... their choice.  We have been chatting about all going away but we will see.  They have a few "Camping Trips" on the cards.  Although their tent is big and could accommodate us, that`s a No! No! as far as John is concerned he is definitely not a "happy camper".  I would not mind, Hazel and I did it so much camping when we were young.  Mind you it does get more difficult as you get older!!
One of my neighbours asked if I would make a Thank You Card for her.  I made a few as it is one card that is always needed.
This is the one she chose:-

I found the image in my Box of images.   Don`t know where it came from, I think it might have been from a CD.  It looked like it had been printed on Velum but in fact just on paper.  Anyway I quite liked it, suited the purpose.
Other than a piece of Lilac card, and some Organza Ribbon that`s it .... simple!!!

Robert was with me on Saturday while John & Thomas were away on their bikes.  Robert had been at his Goalie Training for 1 hour.  In the car, off to join his team and played a Football Match.  He said, he had done enough for one day.  He wanted to make something for his mum who was working.
I showed him how to work out his card sizes to make a box.  Watched over him while he used the Guillotine and left him too it.
Here is what he made:-

The top is a BIG Rose Button from my box.
What fun we had with the letters, had to cut two lots, leaving loads lying about.  We played at how many words we could make.

That`s it for today
Thank you so much for calling by, I really appreciate your support
Till next time

  11. Patricia,
Lovely pretty card, the paper really looks 3D and I can't decide if you have added any decoupaged flowers. Robert's box is beautiful, his mum is so lucky to have a son who makes her gorgeous gifts instead of coming home with stones in his pockets for her!!
If you get chance to have that family holiday do it. We took both our girls and grandchildren to Wales last year for a week in a cottage and it was the best holiday ever. Buckets and spades, long walks, family meals and board games in the evenings. Bliss
    Love and hugs

  21. Good morning Patricia, I am new on your blog and added it to my favourite list .Like your card very much and also the box from ,I believe from your grandson? I scrolled down to the previous post and wow what lovely work ! I especially like the shoes and bags just gorgeous! Like you I am not very technical either and when I write a comment at the end it says reply mine says reply deleted or shows the bin?? Haven't got a clue why . In case anybody knows how to get rid of it I would be very grateful as I tried everything. Patricia is there a pattern for the shoes and bags ? where could I buy it?We live in Spain so would have to order it in the UK.Well for now take care and look forward to your next creation.Jane B.

    1. Jane:- thank you for your visit and lovely comments.
The Shoe is a Template I made from a download many years ago.
The bag is a take on instructions given on Sue Wilsons Blog some months ago. Some of us Crafters have been calling it an IZZY BAG after the lady who designed and sent it to Sue. Scroll back on Sue's Blog "" and you should manage to find it.
I am not really computer savvy but I think:-
The REPLY:- button is if you wish to comment on a comment on a Blog.
DELETE:- is just as it says if you type something and then decide you don't want to send it. I think the little bin symbol will be for the same thing.
      Patricia x

    2. Jane mine all say that to , don't have a clue how to get rid of it. Hazel x

Jane, on some sites my comments have a bin next to it and I've been unable to get rid of it. I think it's a reflection of the quality of my post!!! x

  23. Jane, at the bottom of my post above it says Reply Delete on my
screen, I think it's in case I've pressed the publish button twice want to delete one. Hope this helps. xx

ROBERT Your box is terrific Well done I bet your mum loved it
I'm with your John on the camping front I hate spiders and would always be on the look out for creepy crawlies

  32. Hi Patricia,
another of your wonderful cards, and that paper is fab.
A great design, no wonder she chose it.
Robert you box is super, and lucky Mum for receiving it.
I can see the crafting genes have been passed on Patricia.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  33. Beautiful card. It did truly look printed on vellum. Like the way you've done the distressing on the edges too. Loving Robert's box. He's quite a skilled little crafter & he selected some lovely c/s to make his Mom's box. What a sweet son to think of her this way. I'm with your DH on the camping. It is not my cup of tea either. Had to do this with the DD when she was in Girl Scouts (along with hustling G/Scout cookies). I was happy when she decided enough was enough. She didn't like camping out either!! TFS & enjoy your time with the family. Hugs

  34. Hi Patricia absolutely beautiful card looks rather like a watercolour.
Wow, do tell Robert his box is fantastic I hope mum was delighted I really must say he has a wonderful craft teacher too.
    Margaret xx

  35. Hi Patricia
Love the thank you card. The flowers looked 3D as they really pop off the paper.
As for Robert's box, well you have a brilliant student there as its terrific.
Enjoy your free time with the family.
    Best wishes.
    Ang x

  36. Beautiful card Patricia and Well done to Robert. Such a brilliant box.

  37. Hi Patricia,
your card is lovely. It really looks like you have decoupaged the bellflowers. Oh wow Robert ,a super box made for your mum! do you think you could show me how to,young man :-)
    hugs Maria xx

  38. Hi Patricia. How interesting, like Gail, I thought you had made the flower's and decoupaged them up in layer's, that's how it looks from your photo. Such a lovely pretty delicate card.
I know for sure you must be so proud of your grandson. What a caring, considerate and clever lad. I have to get husby to calculate the number's for me when I made a box or envelobox ! Me and number's dont get on well I must say, so to think he made this box with very little help from you is amazing (mind you he has a brilliant tutor)

Thank you for sharing your oldies, shoe and box projects and the lovely cards.
    Have a good Friday.

Welcome to Jane B. Im useless as far as technology is concerned, oh and with number's in fact im quite the crafting numpty !!
