How is this for a selection of Fruit & Veg.....

Hello folks, I have to tell you my Mojo is still missing.  If anyone should happen to spot it please send it back "first class" ................
No card, I thought I would show you the beautiful selection of Fruit & Veg in Fethyie Market.  Most tourists go for the Bargains in "Fake" Handbags, T-Shirts etc:-  we love to wander round looking at all the wonderful colours and displays of Fruit and Vegetables some we don`t get here.  After all those years living in Turkey and making meals ..... I still don`t know what some are or what to do with them.  Lots are used mostly by rural people and cant be found in the markets that we bought or things from.

Cherries, peaches and Apricots
The Peaches are selling for 4 lira per Kilo.  At today`s exchange rate that`s £1
Cherries 7 Lira £1.75 per Kilo ..... that`s the expensive ones some were only 5 Lira
More of the same, plus Bananas, Green Plumbs and Tomatoes
How about these Strawberries, they were 3 Lira per tray 75p
Look good or what???
The Strawberry season in Turkey is still very short.  Not like round us here in Perthshire where we now have Strawberries from May till end of September maybe even longer.

Some of the vegetable stalls:-
Cabbage like footballs, piles of Cucumber ...  without "raincoats" as the boys say.  Our Cucumbers usually have plastic on them in the Supermarkets!!!
Below is a selection of Apples......!!!!
That`s it for today folks
I am off to "try" and make something using paper.
Thank you for your visit, I really appreciate that you take time to call by
Till next time
Hugs

  3. Hi Patricia
I too love cherries and hate how expensive they are here.
I love going round the markets when we go to Malaysia but they start very early, about 6am because of the heat. Certainly get some exotic fruit and veg there lol!
    Great pics.

  7. Hi Patricia, remember these markets from our holiday there. I love looking at the friut and veg and how inexpensive it is compared to here. The cherries are something that is completely unafforable here and they are so good for Alistair's gout too. Thanks for sharing, hugs Kate x

  12. Hi Patricia, lovely photos. The atmosphere, colours, smell and people, wonderful. Love going to the markets abroad as they have soo much more and different veg/ fruit then we can get here. See some in the supermarkets or foreign shops here but as they haven't got any recipes to them I never buy any . Sure you missing your holiday, tfs !

  14. Hi Patricia, what wonderful pictures, gorgeous array of fruit and veggies, makes you realise how dull our stores are in the UK and also what a restricted choice we have ! I'm currently in Spain for a nice long vacation and marvel at the choice here too. I adore cherries and they are so cheap here, I'm making a glutton of myself !

Thanks so much for your lovely comments on my blog, I hope mr mojo visits you again soon.

    Hugs

  17. Oooh Patricia that all looks good enough to eat!
I remember having fresh strawberries in Spain from a similar market and I have never tasted anything better. They just don't taste the same here.

Looks like you had fun, happy hunting for your mojo!
Maybe it's hiding with my time today?! (That seems to be disappearing fast too.)

    Hugs Erika.

  24. Morning Patricia, What a gorgeous array of fresh veg and fruits, I'm especially loving the greengages (green plums) they are my favourite for pies. All these fruits and veg will actually 'taste' of what they should be too, not like ours that don't have much 'taste'.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
